Drinking and Tweeting and Other Brandi Blunders

Brandi Glanville may be the newest bad girl in Beverly Hills, but it’s impossible not to love her for always speaking her mind. In this brash, candid, and vulnerable memoir, she spills all of her secrets, dishing on her infamous divorce, motherhood, the plastic surgery that made her “seventeen” again, and much, much more.

She’s the brutally honest breath of fresh air on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, known for her dramatic divorce, her barely-there clothing, and her inability to keep her mouth shut. So why should she change now? Brandi Glanville tells all in this hilarious, no-holds-barred memoir.

Fans have been waiting for Brandi’s scoop on one of the biggest divorces of the decade, since her husband of eight years abandoned her and their two sons to marry country singer LeAnn Rimes. Not only does Brandi spill the beans about her side of the split, the lovable housewife shares the incredible wild ride that took her from a life in the ghetto to Hollywood’s most elite circles. For the first time, Brandi talks about how she escaped a rough neighborhood on the outskirts of Sacramento and stumbled into a successful modeling career that swept her into a world of Paris Fashion Weeks, private jets, and uncircumcised penises. Before she knew it, Brandi was the perfect Hollywood trophy wife—at least until her marriage exploded.

Today, the refreshingly filter-free housewife and unapologetic mom is the newest full-time cast member of Bravo’s juggernaut franchise, where she often elicits raised eyebrows and gossip from her costars for her refusal to be the scorned ex-wife, to be bullied, to change her sarcastic sense of humor, or—on most occasions—to wear a bra. Sassy, raunchy, and compulsively readable, Drinking and Tweeting perfectly captures Brandi’s open-book attitude, as she dishes about everything from her DUI, her cheating ex, her one-night stands, and the secret plastic surgery that made her “seventeen” again. You’re sure to enjoy every page of this funny, upbeat, honest tale. Clear your schedule for an afternoon and grab your favorite cocktail, a comfy seat . . . and maybe a Xanax. But that’s for later.

I didn't watch The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills very often but when I did happen to catch an episode, I was surprised to find I enjoyed it. I found Brandi to be loud, aggressive, with a mouth that would give any sailor or trucker a run for their money. But she's also quite funny. Who knows how much was "scripted" or how much was just Brandi being Brandi. Either way I thought she was very entertaining. She's not on the show anymore, apparently people loved to hate her but it sounds like eventually the hate was quite a bit higher and she was cut from the show.

Now about this book. I thought it was a fun read. We learn about her background, how she got away from on of the tougher neighborhoods in Sacramento. She was discovered as a model, jet-setting around the world before settling down to get married and have a family.

Life was very good...until it wasn't.

This definitely falls under the guilty pleasure category. But hey they do say that as long as you're reading anything that it's a good thing! Right? ....Right!

I can definitely see how people love and hate her, often at the same time. Her brutal honesty would absolutely be hard to take in many circumstances. But I liked that no topic seemed to be off-limits... her DUI, her marriage and messy divorce, her family, Eddie and Leann, her current sex life, and her surgeries (including the surgery she had that made her feel.......rejuvenated).

There was also a bit about the softer side of Brandi. You can tell she's been hurt and though her methods of dealing with that hurt may not be everyone's cup of tea, I do feel we get to know quite a bit of the real Brandi.

This won't be for everyone, and that's okay. All in all I found it to be a quick and entertaining read.

Don't hate me for being a Housewives fan. And don't hate me for giving this fluff book four stars. I do it for loyalty and I do it for entertainment value. If something was worth my time and only took a few hours, then voila, it was worth it. And if you do hate me for being a Housewife fan, then you must know that I never miss an episode of the Bachelor either. There it is. I'm out in the open now. I need to go to The Betty for Housewives and Bachelor addiction but there's a problem. I don't want help. I'm fine with my obsession. And I'm fine with the fact that I love fellow Sacramento Girl, Brandi Glanville.

What are the odds that two Sacramento Girls would publish their debut books within two months of each other? "But Meredith," you say. "You're a Gridley Girl. How can you be a Sacramento Girl too?" It's simple. After I graduated from Oregon State, I moved to Sacramento where I lived, very happily, for the next 21 years. All of my ancestors on my mother's side of the family are from Sacramento which is why I am fifth generation Sacramentan. I lived just ten minutes from the South Sac hood that Brandi grew up in. She went to high school where some of my very best friends went (although she's a bit younger). So from one Sacramento Girl to another, I say, "Good job, Brandi!". I'm sorry your husband was a jerk but I'm glad you came out of it on the other side, still smiling and having fun.

As for this book? It's a fun romp. I read it in a short afternoon and smiled throughout. Now I just hope Brandi can handle the litigation from the other housewife with Sacramento ties. You know who I'm talking about. Chin up, Brandi. You can do it.

This book is a fun read for any Housewife fan and definitely for all Sacramento Girls. Cheers to Brandi!

Downloaded this book on my Kindle this morning and read half of it on my lunch break and I was just itching to get home and read the rest...I finished the rest and had a good laugh at the first person she donated the book to (HA!). Brandi Glanville is very refreshing, she doesn't sugarcoat or bullshit anything. If a squinty-eyed, flared nose, ugly, wanna be, jealous, washed out country singer came outta left field and stole my husband from me, the whore would most likely be beaten to death by me, along with the ex. Brandi showed to be the real woman here, while Squints Rimes totally pulled a Single White Female on Brandi's ass, plain sad and disturbing.
All in all, it was a fun and juicy read. Brandi really triumphed at the end, Team Brandi!!!!!!!

I pre-ordered this book months ago and was stoked to see it download to my Kindle Fire the morning of its release. I got into it right away and was literally finished in a few hours of not-so-straight-through reading, but believe me when I say nothing else has captured my attention and held it as long as this book has.

If you’re surprised by the rating of this book, don’t be. Brandi Glanville brings it! Honest, refreshing, direct, hilarious, sad, open, and REAL. This was an excellent first book for her. I hope she will write again, regardless of the subject matter, because she definitely has a lot to say, a style all her own, and she writes the same way she speaks, which I do as well, so it’s relatable and I respect her for it.

This book was not the shocking tell-all that all the tabloids will have you believe. Instead, it is a real, honest account of someone who loved her husband, family, and the life they had built together, only to find out that it was a lie, and that when the dog strays, he strays to someone with the same moral fiber. None whatsoever.

I remember when this entire thing broke through the tabloids several years ago and all I kept thinking was “He has this beautiful wife, two young kids, and he’s leaving her for someone who is married?!” I had been an avid fan of his when he was on Third Watch, but I agree with Brandi when she says he’ll never win any awards for his acting. Most of the characters he plays are pigs. Yeah, I’m not surprised either.

I think it is a real credit to her that she didn’t come right out and question whether or not he ever truly loved her. My guess is, this guy knows nothing about true love, but Brandi is an extremely likeable and loveable person in how she presents herself, by being real and owning her mistakes and her future.

Don’t believe what you see on TV or read on-line, read this book and decide for yourself. I have read it twice since getting it. I laughed out loud, I shed a few tears, I related, I nodded my head in agreement, and believe me when I say I agreed with a lot. Not everything, but a lot of things.

Now raising her boys as a single Mom, it is clear this woman is truly devoted to these children, to raising good men, and to teaching them right from wrong in an honest way, without sugar-coating anything. I love that she speaks with them honestly about the things they come to her with, and that when they have questions, however big or small, she finds the right way to answer them. Like me, she comes from a place that says “Don’t bullshit your kids. Be honest with them, it’s better for them to hear it from you and be able to comprehend it, even if they come back with additional questions.” I also feel she has done an amazing job protecting them from the shit storm her ex-husband and his horse, I mean “new wife” created.

I respect her honesty and candor in regard to depression, postpartum depression, anxiety, and getting yourself the help you need. They don’t come more real than Brandi Glanville, and for that I applaud her.

Maybe it’s because I too am a Scorpio with not much of a filter, but I think she is awesome. I loved this book and will read it again. This is definitely one of the BEST books of all the ‘Housewives’ that have released one.

Team Brandi!! I am so proud of her for rising above the crap and coming out as the star she really is. Major, major kudos to her.

I need a Real Housewives intervention. Despite the fact that I'm bored to tears with recent seasons, I can't say no. They fill my DVR. They've infiltrated my brain with their pop culture absurdity. (My sister and I have discussions about episodes and I have to stop myself from using "bloop, bloop" in everyday conversation. Whenever I'm cooking, I say "ingrediences" at least once. I've been known to throw out a "close your legs to married men" a few times. Even my husband, ultimate Hater of Real Housewivesdom, cannot resist the allure of Caroline from RHONJ.)

It's clear how far I've fallen that I spent a good two to three hours reading a book about how some no-name actor left a girl we didn't even know existed three years ago for a country singer I don't care about. I'm horrified at myself.

Then again--it was a really entertaining book. I read a blog post recently that said people should stop apologizing for reading books that we call "our guilty pleasures." Instead, we should just own it and admit that we like it. That if it's something we enjoy, we shouldn't need to qualify it.

So, I enjoyed it. I wish I had been stuck on a beach somewhere drinking something with an umbrella in it, because THAT is the ideal situation to read a book like this. Brandi is honest and no-holds-barred and spiteful sometimes, but if you watch RHOBH, that shouldn't surprise you a bit.

What did surprise me was how readable it was. I had the lowest of low expectations, and while this isn't an earth-shatteringly poignant memoir, it's still not bad. It's exactly what you think it will be and maybe even a little better than that.
Of course I can't leave this hanging with "a little better than that." There were a few things that annoyed the shit out of me.

1. If you watch the show, you'll remember that Brandi originally wanted the book entitled, "It's a Break-Up, Not Cancer." Her publishers wisely passed on that (relegating it to a chapter title instead), and chose the less offensive, "Drinking and Tweeting." I'm sure they thought this was VERY CLEVER and to tie everything in to their VERY CLEVER book title, Brandi or Leslie Bruce or whoever inserted little hashtags all throughout the book. #FuckingAnnoying <-- Just like that. #NotAsCuteAsYouThoughtItWouldBe <-- And that.

2. This book implies that Brandi's ticket to fame arrived in the form of one washed-up country singer seducing her D-List actor husband. While I see Brandi and LeAnn littering every US Weekly cover from here to eternity right now, I don't remember a whole lot of coverage about the cheating "scandal" at the time. I'm sure there were paparazzi all over the place and I'm sure that she was hounded by media for interviews and I know I saw photos of LeAnn and Eddie in magazines then. The thing is--when Brandi was named as a cast member for RHOBH, I had no idea who she was. I consider myself (sadly) well-versed in pop culture minutiae. But still--no clue who this chick was. When she said, "I'm the former wife of blah-blah guy who slept with LeAnn blah-blah," I put it all together obviously. But, let's not split hairs here. RHOBH made Brandi. It wasn't the cheating scandal, it wasn't her crazy statements post-divorce that got a wee mention in Star magazine. Andy Cohen made her. She brought the personality and he provided the platform. Voila--the reason I read this book. You'd think she'd write about it a little bit, no? Aside from a few mentions of castmates and production, Brandi devotes 80% of the book to hating D-List Ex, 10% of the book to her childhood/modeling history/struggle with depression/motherhood and then uses the other 10% to talk about the stupidest crap. She devoted an entire chapter to social media addiction/etiquette. That made the cut over, oh, discussing the transition onto RHOBH? Or what about writing how RHOBH affected her relationship with her ex, considering she's as visible (if not more so) than him now? At the very least, GIVE THE PEOPLE WHAT THEY WANT. I want to know if Lisa Vanderpump is really your bestie. I want to know why Kyle is the shadiest of everyone and hardly anyone calls her out on it. I want to know why Taylor seems like she's losing her mind. I'm willing to believe that she's under some weird Bravo gag order that doesn't allow her to discuss the show, but she DOES discuss the show. She mentions producers, filming, castmates...but they're just small mentions. I had this problem with Andy Cohen's book too. Don't ignore the only reason we're reading your book, guys. No one is reading Andy Cohen's book to learn about the wild behind-the-scenes happenings at CBS 20 years ago. Likewise, no one is reading Brandi Glanville's book to hear her musings on social media etiquette.

If you have some time to kill and want to numb a few brain cells with entertaining pop culture, this is your book! (And honestly, it was a mostly enjoyable, quick read.)

Have you read this book? What did you think?

I am a huge Bravo fan but I have always disliked Brandi Glanville. I was upset when she was cast as a Housewife and I was really upset when she wasn't fired after two seasons of just being mean and unnecessarily cruel to an original cast mate. So I read her book because I thought maybe I wouldn't dislike her as much and then I could enjoy the show more. UM NOPE. I read this book in less than 24 hours, the words are huge, the margins are bigger. The book reads like a bitter ex wife trying to make a dime off her divorce story. Everything she criticizes about LeAnn Rimes is a quality I see in her both on the show and in other parts of the book. They are the same person, at least from Brandi's perspective. Her quote about LeAnn not being about to do algebra homework with her kids- hilarious considering the source. The notes about teaching her 9 year old about inappropriate adult touching- hello- I have those conversations with my 2 year old. Pride about coming from nothing, but yet having to re-learn to empty a dishwasher after 8 years of marriage. Just the fact that when she stated she was emptying the dishwasher she had to explain why in the world she would preform such a task, even though she's surprisingly domestic. Making her parents co-sign on a Range Rover (don't worry it's the Sport) after the divorce. Come on. I'm sure it's her reality but make a good book it does not. She talks a lot about the horrors of child stars- how do Kim & Kyle Richards feel about that I wonder? As much as she dislikes LeAnn- once you take all of the references to her out of the book it would be about 10 pages long- except for the clothing tips (sounds vaguely familiar to another Housewives' book, no?) And what is with all the hash tagging in the book? I do not get it. #dontreadthisbook

I've never even seen the Housewives show but I still want to read this. Don't judge!

UPDATE:

So as I mentioned, I have never seen any of the Real Housewives shows - not a single episode. However, I know all about Brandi Glanville due to my insane love of celebrity gossip. A few years ago, she was featured very heavily in tabloids after her husband left her and her two boys to shack up with and then marry LeAnn Rimes. So, I was looking forward to reading this and hearing her side of the story since she is always portrayed in the magazines as being crazy as hell.

Honestly, this was SO entertaining. I sped straight through this book (it's also very short) and laughed out loud several times. Brandi does not hold back on ANYTHING, and I actually thought she took the high road on many things. Yes, she bashes Eddie and LeAnn a lot - but my goodness, wouldn't you? I was surprised at the restraint she was able to show, actually, since I definitely expected her to be a lot more mean. In my opinion, she wasn't mean at all - just honest.

All in all, definitely a fun way to pass 2 hours. I'm kind of ashamed at giving this 4 stars, but it was honestly THAT entertaining for me and just exactly what I was in the mood to read.

I've got to be honest that I had no idea what to expect when I read this book today. I thought it would just consist of bashing Eddie Cibrian and Leann Rimes - and rightfully so! - but it was more than that. For anyone that has had their heart broken and has been crippled by the pain that accompanies a break-up, for anyone that has gone through a divorce and had to keep it together in front of their kids, and for anyone that with the advent of social media has had to witness their once loved one galavant with another, this book is for you. It's relatable.

Glanville is refreshingly honest, for better or worse, and she does own up to her shortcomings. I remember when this story broke out and I felt so sad for this woman. Years later, this former triangle still makes headline. Between the insults thrown and the constant tweeting from Leann about being a bonus mom, the truth remains that breakups are painful and while you will eventually move on, it takes a long time. The pain, while minimized with time, never completely goes away.

Great read, surprisingly inspirational, and the tips were actually good. I'm glad Glanville found peace and a stream of income after having learned the hard lesson of the importance of independence and self-sufficiency.

This is such a silly book. I joined the library yesterday and as I was browsing the isles this book jumped out at me. Real Housewives is my guilty pleasure and I had heard some positive reviews about this book. I wouldn't pay money to read it but figured it was worth checking out for free. This is basically a book she wrote to LeAnn Rimes and her ex-husband about the affair and divorce and how it affected her filled with (jabs) and #sillyhashtags. I was hoping for more juicy gossip about the housewives but she didn't even mention the show until the last chapter. So thhhbbbbpppt...I don't care about your cheating ex-husband, I want to read about the dirty secrets of the show and other housewives. Oh well, at least it was a quick read. I kind of laughed to myself when I flipped through the pages for the first time because it looked like the whole thing was double-spaced with 2 inch margins. It was a welcome break from Pride and Prejudice and will keep me on my goal.

I'll admit, my interest was piqued when I saw this book, and was fascinated at the time that the Cibrian/Rimes photos initially emerged. I was interested to hear the other side of the story. However, it was unlike any other "other side of the story" I've ever read. A full dose of betrayed, followed by a double dose of bitter fills every page of this 248 page book...I love me a salacious read, but I wish I could have the time back that I spent reading this book. It's like binging on an entire box of donuts...while it is delicious and irresistible at first, one will likely feel ill afterwards.

I should start this review by saying that I never miss an episode of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and have been a fan Brandi Glanville’s since she hobbled across our screens with a stiletto on one foot and a boot on the other while being held up by a pair of crutches. Therefore, I started this book already “loving” Brandi’s knack for the truth, believing her side of things and completely & firmly on #TeamBrandi. However, when it came to reviewing this book, I went back and forth on what to exactly say, but then I thought about who Brandi is and what she always supposedly stands for – which is blunt honesty… so, I figured that’s what this review should be. Honest.

Brandi Glanville is, without a doubt, one of the reasons that the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is the successful show that it is. She is hysterical, brutally honest (almost to the point where you often cringe) and always, always has an opinion. Therefore, I went into this book with pretty high expectations. However, all of the things that I LOVED about Brandi, I seemed to only “like” about her while reading her own story.

My first impression of this book was its length. It somewhat surprised me that it was such a short read, but then once I got into it, I understood completely why it was. Beyond talking about her failed marriage and her attempt to rebuild her life, Brandi doesn’t seem to have much more to say (or perhaps, wants to share) about anything else in her life.

To be quite frank, how many times can a reader go through the same story about her husband’s infidelities and how she found out about them before it becomes somewhat repetitive? Not too surprisingly, the main issue I had with this book is that there may have been too much “Eddie and LeAnn” and not enough Brandi. I understood that they would be a huge part of her book, but the focus should not have been largely on them. Ironically, just as I thought, “Good! Brandi is moving on and talking about her life,” she would bring LeAnn or Eddie up again and as a reader, you feel like you’re back at square-one. Now, don’t get me wrong – I love a good “Brandi insult” and she throws them out like you wouldn’t believe from commentary about LeAnn’s teeth, style, makeup and weight loss to Eddie’s hair and talent (or lack thereof). She made me laugh and even nod a few times, but by the end, I wanted to read those same comical digs about other people in her life. So, again… as a reader, I was left simply wanting more Brandi.

The lone chapter that seemed solely about Brandi was one about a particular medical procedure she decides to undergo in an attempt to begin her new life. However, as much as I complained earlier that I needed more Brandi, when it came to hearing about this procedure, I actually started wanting “less.” Maybe I’m just too squeamish.

All in all, I’m still firmly on #TeamBrandi and will continue to root for her, but I have to wonder if I would have enjoyed an audio version of this book somewhat more. What makes Brandi unique and so funny is her delivery and that’s what I believe may have been missing from this book. Sadly, I think she may have gotten lost in her own story.

I would like to start this review off with full disclosure. I LOVE Brandi! I have loved Brandi since the moment she showed up with the broken ankle on high heeled shoes and all the other women started acting like bully middle schoolers, and Brandi said the eff word without blinking. I was like, this is so my girl! My spirit screamed out to this woman that was raised outside the glimmer and the lights of show biz and was thrust into it.

In this book you get so much Brandi it made me giggle and want to start drinking wine (I'm a make up drinks kinda girl and they all have to taste like candy and get me drunk in one glass.) I want to be friends with Brandi, even moreso after reading this and getting deeper into what went down in her divorce. I had my jaw on the floor half the time and I'm sorry but LeAnn Rimes is a douchebag! Notice I didn't slut shame but anyone that calls a mother and says "I'm going to be the mother too your kids now." Is a douchebag! I have to give Brandi credit, I would've killed her, seriously.

I didn't only learn more about Brandi, but I felt connected to her while reading this. She's not much older than me and it is nice to see someone unafraid to use the eff word liberally. I'm gonna let you know I don't trust anyone who doesn't use the eff word at least three times a day because hello you come across something totally eff worthy AT LEAST three times a day!

I am reluctant to watch the new season of Housewives if she comes back. I feel like she's used as the scapegoat even when things aren't her fault. Just because she doesn't have a filter they think they can point at her and go, "She did it." I get that because it happens to me ALL THE TIME! I think she is a great mother after reading this and although she gets worked up it is very real her reactions. It was nice diving into her brain (Even with a ghost writer who helped) but it came together perfectly and I NEVER read non-fiction from people with fame because I hate bragging. But Brandi doesn't brag and that's how you are able to relate to her.

Oh Brandi, you love to speak your mind. I watch her on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and she is definitely one of my favorites. She always says exactly what she's thinking in the show and she does the same in this book. This book also has a lot of foul language (my mother still giggles at the "F word" so I felt the need to give a warning).

This book talks a lot about her divorce and her ex's new wife, sex, and all kinds of relationships (family, friends, dating). Some people probably say she wrote this book only to bash her ex husband and his new wife LeAnn Rimes. And you know what? That's exactly what she did. But I think she had every right to. He cheated on her with numerous women. He ended up marrying the last woman she knows he cheated on her with. And he left her with close to nothing. Is that only her side of the story? Yes. But regardless of that, he still cheated. So I think he deserves much worse than having a book written about their divorce.

Was the book well-written? Not exactly. It was written in the way she speaks, which makes it a quick, easy read. My only complaint is her use of #hashtags. It's a book. I understand that the word "tweeting" is in the title, but I think hashtags should only be used on twitter, and especially not in a book.

This book is great for fans of RHOBH or anyone going through a nasty divorce.

”You need to wake up one morning and decide that those rose-colored glasses are so last fucking season.”

”No on else should have control over how you feel about yourself.”

The writing isn't the most well-rounded, or grammatically inspired, but I didn't expect as much, and therefore my rating has nothing to do with that.

I wanted an entertaining, unfiltered read and that’s exactly what this was. Brandi is refreshingly open about mental health, addiction, relationships, sex, and fame, even if her advice isn't necessarily sound in all areas. Brandi is crass and as the title suggests, she makes a lot of mistakes, but she doesn't apologize for being human. Or for her plastic surgery choices.

This book probably isn't a lot of people’s cup of tea, but I enjoyed it, no shame here!

I love Brandi.

This book was a very candid and entertaining read. I liked that you could tell it was written by Brandi herself and not some random person she paid to write - the voice in the book sounded just like Brandi. I found myself totally immersed in this book and finished it in a matter of days.

While some say that this book is a slander-filled tell all with an intent to destroy her ex-husband/LeAnn Rimes' reputations (wish they did themselves), I found it to be quite the opposite. Not many people can talk with absolute honestly about their low points in life quite like Brandi. Her honesty and humor make tragic situations extremely relatable and personal. I found myself identifying with Brandi a lot more than I expected.

Overall, 5/5 stars. Such an honest, funny, and insightful book. I'm sure many will feel empowered by Brandi's advice.

Well I must admit that I do not know this woman, or better yet should I be proud that I do not know her? lol. Yes I love reality TV but lately there are so many reality shows on that are not real but scripted. I want my reality TV to be reality! Among the is the Housewives of.. show. I did watch one show but I do not know which one. let me go look it up. It is with a Theresa a horrible woman. Okay I watched 2 seasons of The Housewives of new Jersey apparently.

Anyway, so I do not know this woman but I looked this book up on amazon and it looked fun and it has great and I mean great reviews, so I am giving it a try.

So far she does amuse me. I will copy one of her sayings here.

"To this point in my life, the only jobs I've ever had to worry about were boob jobs and blow jobs, anything beyond that was simply not in my wheelhouse"

Talk about being honest.

Okay I have to add another one although this means a lot more typing.

"In his defense he did tell me he was playing poker every Tuesday night. Silly me, I thought he was playing a card game. I didn't realize that he was actually playing "poke her" I guess it is my fault for not asking him to spell it?"

Finished it very quickly. If you like to hear some gossip and are not easily offended i think You'll enjoy this quick read.

Soooo first of all if you knew me personally, you would know that one of my guilty pleasures is the Real Housewives series on Bravo. I mean its just so damn entertaining and ultimately shows that girls who grow up to be grown women still have issues and drama which is comforting on some level.

And I, of course, have my favorite housewives- and isn't funny how now all the housewives have come out with some sort of product, book or line which they push and market on the show?

As controversial as Brandi Glanville is on the show, she is my absolute favorite on the Beverly Hills franchise. Perhaps it is because she is the "underdog" and I always seem to root for the underdog in everything! I found her book to be refreshing, hilarious and the best thing of all is that it actually SOUNDS like she wrote it! I mean the way she talks on the show and is portrayed is clearly the real her in my opinion and that is what I love most about her. She is blunt and candid in the book and it is a great easy read. I think it is far better than alot of the other "housewives" attempt at writing. . .

Great read if you are a fan and want some funny fodder for the brain that requires no thinking or analyzing.

Drinking and Tweeting was surprisingly very well written! I wanted to read it before LeAnn slapped her with a Cease and Desist of the book sales. When it was actually released yesterday I was shocked and thought it must not have very specific details about the Eddie and LeAnn affair but was I wrong! Brandi uses self deprecating humor but includes the juicy details of revenge and staging paparazzi photos of other parties. This was a great quick read that will show Brandi in a new “don’t F with me” light. Someone needs to send a copy to Adrienne Maloof… She will think twice before picking a fight with this girl!

This book is the literary equivalent to Fleetwood Mac's, "Go Your Own Way" seasoned with sprinkles of, "Don't Speak" by No Doubt. I really liked Brandi before this, as I feel she delivers the only ounce of reality on RHOBH, but I ADORE her now!

I have always held firm to the idea that no one can say anything negative about you if you candidly expose yourself on your own terms. Glanville has done this and more. She has shown her ex as the K-Fed that he is, and has trumped the yarn spun by LeAnn for her E! News Special.

Brandi has delivered the ultimate, "Checkmate" without spewing the least bit of scorned woman spittle! Lol! #touchdown

Verdict: If you do not expect life altering prose or pulitzer-prize writing, you will enjoy this book.

I feel like Brandi Glanville went through a ton of "stuff" over the past 3-5 years and publishing this book is a huge part of her healing. She reminds me a lot of me......if I were a 40 year old divorced woman on a hit reality TV show. :)

Hopefully she can continue to move on with her life and receive all of the blessings she deserves. After all - success is the best revenge.

Pretty entertaining book. I never liked Leann, even before the cheating scandal. As for Brandi and Eddie, I never knew they existed.
With all the media attention on them, my curiosity got the better of me and I bought the book. I'm glad I did. For entertainment purposes only, the book was great. Although it was repetitive at times and all over the place I think the book did what it was supposed to do. It made Leann's and Eddie' s lives much more difficult and it got Brandi much needed cash.

I have to say that after reading this I just adore Brandi. Whatever craziness she brought (or continues to bring) to the table during her public divorce/scandal/fall out with Eddie Cibrian and Leanne Rimes was, IMO, very much warranted and understandable. As a doting wife and mother I can only imagine her pain. Heartbreaking on every level. I wish her and her 2 little boys much happiness.

Just what you would expect from Brandi!! Not everyone will appreciate this book, but if you e been through a divorce or bad break up, you will!! Yes, she bashes her ex, but don't most of us?? She also keeps it light and doesn't take herself too seriously, which makes for a great read!

When I started this book, I suspected I was going to end up wanting to punch her in the face. But I said, "No, Bunny. Let's leave our judgy pants in the closet, and give it a shot. When you started watching that god awful show, you liked her. For a minute. Before she opened her mouth."

A chapter or two in, I wanted to punch her in the face. After I punched myself in the face for bothering to read this. Thank god I didn't pay for this.

"Rape jokes are never funny except when they are!"

I mean, seriously. I want to kick her in her rejuvenated vagina with my steel toed converse on. While wearing fucking skinny jeans with tiny pockets because women only care that their ass looks good, not that their clothing is actually functional.

So why did I bother to read this? Because I love a good train wreck. I live for a good train wreck. And of all the descriptors one can use for this waste of DNA, train wreck is probably number one.

Seriously, this is almost enough to make me Team Leann. As it stands, I'm Team nuclear bomb to the both of them.

"I used my ex-husband's credit card to pay for $12,000 worth of unnecessary cosmetic surgery, and I totally understand why people would cause physical harm to themselves when going through emotionally difficult times!"

Sit and rotate on a traffic cone.

The only good thing I learned from this book is, thanks to said surgery, she will NEVER REPRODUCE AGAIN. God help those two kids.

Hilarious note: Literally minutes after I finished this, my roommate called from his job to let me know he'd just finished Season 5 of RHOBH, and finally understand why I can't stand this human being.

"I figured out the word to describe her. Vile."
"You should read her book."

It's totally not a secret to anyone that knows me well that I love the Real Housewives franchise, and my fave seasons are always CA. This is a little beyond that, I have a serious girl crush on Brandi Glanville. Sure, she is completely nutty and says whatever comes to mind, usually the wrong thing in the wrong setting, but beneath all of that she is a mom, and loves her kids and tries to do what's best for them. I enjoyed reading about her disasterous divorce to the douchey Eddie Cibrian and LOVED reading about her bashing of Leann Rimes. I mean really, they are disgusting.
Hopefully, she finds some peace after all of this drama and is able to find love again with someone that appreciates her. I had a lovely evening reading this, while my hubby watched a hockey game. Definitely not Jane Austen, but a fabulous quick read on a Tuesday night!

I've never watched Real Housewives but I've been watching Brandi Glanville on Celebrity Apprentice, and she did quite well, so I picked up this book and read it in one day. It was actually pretty tasteful considering she talks about her painfully ugly divorce. I felt bad for her; she was pretty candid and laid out her pain, and I love that; also she's resilient, and I love that too. How awful to have your husband's new marriage so public, and then having to see social media pics and magazine pics of your two kids with the new "bonus mom" (Leanne Rimes, btw). Plenty of humor and self-deprecation. (Oh, people who want to read about the RealHOUseWivesBeverlyHIlls will be disappointed, she doesn't really talk about that).

Perfection. Read it straight through. Kind of want Brandi to be my new BFF. For the record, I think Eddie got off easy (pun intended) with slashed tires. As for the washed up country star...entirely pathetic.

I really need to stop listen to books by Bravolebrities. And someone needs to go back and re-edit this audiobook. Embarrassing.
