In a new post from Ginnifer Goodwin, Judy Hopps is back. With Zootopia 2 coming soon, the post seemingly confirms the actress' return to the role.

Judy Hopps' voice actress Ginnifer Goodwin recently shared a post teasing her return to the popular Disney franchise. Donning a pair of Judy Hopps ears, a matching character pouch, and a Zootopia Police coffee tumbler, Goodwin captioned her photo, "This is how I go to work. I am not kidding."

The City of Zootopia Grows

While Zootopia 2 was confirmed all the way back in October, plot and cast details have been kept under wraps; that being said, Ginnifer Goodwin and co-star Jason Bateman's roles as Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde respectively were never really questioned. The two did not appear in the Disney+ original series Zootopia+, given that the series' events canonically took place during the same period as the first film.

It's safe to say that the hype for the Zootopia sequel is very real; the first movie was a smashing success for the House of Mouse, joining the billion dollar box-office club upon its release in 2016. In the eight years since, fans have been eager to see Judy and Nick's adventures continue in the newly reformed city. In 2023, producer of the first Zootopia and Disney executive Brad Simonsen added to the excitement by promising that Zootopia 2 is "going to take it to another level and be, as you know, as good or better than the first."

Unsurprisingly, Zootopia 2 isn't the only sequel in the works at Disney. One of the most highly anticipated movies to come is Frozen 3. Similar to Zootopia, the details of the project have been scant, with little known about the planned sequel other than Josh Gad's confirmed return as Olaf, and that CCO Jennifer Lee won't be leading the film. Disney CEO Bob Iger has also confirmed that a fifth Toy Story film is in production, as well as a sequel to Moana.

Despite the secrecy surrounding Zootopia 2, audiences can be relatively certain that Goodwin is reprising her role as Judy. Zootopia 2 is slated for release Wed., Nov. 26, 2025.
