North Atlanta High School has provided me with rigorous courses in the form of IB, AP, and honors classes. As well as given me the opportunity to find a community through extracurriculars like Cross Country and Track and Field. There are a number of Honor Societies that provide opportunities for students to participate further in outside experiences through community service. The school has provided materials to further the success of students in the way of academic opportunities of work-based learning as well as technology like computers and iPads to ensure each student can research and be successful. The IB program at the school is exceptional with options for the CP and DP program that offers students varying levels of rigour. While there are some negative experiences with teachers generally they have the student's best interests and present challenges providing excellent education.
Being a student here for 3 years as I transferred from Dunwoody High School, I've had an elevated experience in comparison. Being right in the middle of Buckhead, this school has shown me what true diversity looks like. The student body comes from various backgrounds and there is a strong sense of community. Parents are often involved and it's a surprise to learn which students are connected to which adult. Coming from Dunwoody, taking regular classes, I didn't expect a significant change however, entering North Atlanta, I was immediately put into IB and AP courses. I did not ask to be in these classes but the counselors at this school recognize potential and accurately so as I've been successful in each course. NAHS emphasizes college preparation, and the only downside is the stress that can be associated with this. I'd like to see change with the infrastructure and resources available. There is also a Wi-Fi issue that has been lingering for years beyond my attendance.
It is a great school. Teachers and the school have really helped me want to continue my learning after high school which not every school does. North Atlanta is the best!
North Atlanta is supportive academically. It also provides a wide variety of club, fine arts, and athletic opportunities. Counselors and administrators care about our community and the development of the whole child.
Very good education for college readiness. The academic course can be very rigorous. You must stay on time with your work in order to be successful. There are many smart students and good diversity. Sports and clubs are plentiful.
It's a very big school, and most of the teachers are nice. The worst part is that there are fights kind of often.
North Atlanta High school is a great school to send your children to. The programs are accessible to all children and the staff is very nice. The teachers there are very kind and supportive as well.
My experience at North Atlanta high School was pretty good. As most people in Atlanta know it’s a very huge school with many classes , clubs and opportunities to offer. I can confidently say that North Atlanta High School shaped me into who I am today.
School is very polarized. Zoning gives a mix of snobby rich kids and lower income kids. Building is nice but not easy to move around.
It was okay. I look back on certain times far better than others. I did not enjoy my nine grade year at all.
North Atlanta High school is definitely a hit or miss school. Some teachers are very engaging and some aren't.
My experience with North Atlanta High School has been pretty good overall. I have not felt unsafe there at any point in time and have multiple teachers I know I can trust and rely on for help or advice. I would say the worst part of the school is getting inside during the morning. There have been many times where I have been standing outside the entrance for 20 minutes and have almost been late to class because of it. I've also been pulled aside for bag search even when it was the student ahead of me that set off the detector.
North Atlanta is a great school that allows students to express themselves as they please. It’s a school that doesn’t tolerate bullying and wants everyone to feel equally accepted. I’ve personally enjoyed my time there and would definitely recommend it to upcoming highschoolers!
North ATlanta is a great art and academic school. The school is very diverse with many different cultures in the classroom. North Atlanta has any club or thing a student would want and if there isn't the school will accommodate you.
The best experience at my school is making new friends who are interested in the same things as I am (e.g. games, activities, etc.). The worst experience at school is trying to fit into a population of kids who already have their cliques and not interested in bring you in the fold.
There's no other school I'd want to go to in Atlanta. It's a big school so you get to know all kinds of people. Some teachers are really good and some are really bad. Classes can be pretty big and stairs and elevators get crowded. I like the students.
North Atlanta was very fun the past few years. The school spirit amongst my peers make it great. The best parts is always Homecoming Week because of the fun activities planned for us. Powderpuff and the Hoco football games makes it even more fun. Although the school is great, I wish the school had more bleachers on the track/football field so we can host more efficient games and events that can hold enough people.
