A Good Day to Die Hard

      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

A Good Day to Die Hard is the weakest entry in a storied franchise, and not even Bruce Willis' smirking demeanor can enliven a cliched, uninspired script.

Candice Frederick Reel Talk Online It makes you think that the previous movies, or the first three really great ones, were all just a fluke. Rated: D+ Sep 7, 2017 Full Review Larushka Ivan-Zadeh metro.co.uk The action is spectacular but it's incoherently directed, so often you can't tell who's smashing what lorry/jeep/helicopter into what, let alone why. Rated: 3/5 Sep 1, 2017 Full Review Jason Bailey Flavorwire It is, for anyone who loved the original films, an abomination. Jun 21, 2016 Full Review Keith Garlington Keith & the Movies “A Good Day to Die Hard” is missing almost ever signature feature and clever nuance that has made this franchise great. Rated: 2/5 Aug 19, 2022 Full Review Brian Eggert Deep Focus Review A Good Day to Die Hard fails not only to meet the requirements of an ample Die Hard sequel, but it also fails to be a watchable piece of mindless action. Timothy T This isn't as bad as people say it is. Yes it's a bit over the top and most characters are dull but it still delivers the action and comedy we've come to know and love with this franchise. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 05/16/24 Full Review Aaron B There is no discernible plot, not chemistry between Willis and Courtney (like there was with Banks, Jackson and Long in 1, 3 and 4) no John McClane zingers, no iconic bad guy, and no steady cam (ugh)... an utter failure of a Die Hard movie. Do not watch. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 11/26/23 Full Review Jay H Possibly the most boring action movie I've ever watched. I would stare at a blank movie screen for two hours before I'd watch this again. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/13/23 Full Review Grant R Seen way worse with better rotten tomato scores. Probably the worst in the series but not a terrible movie Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 11/11/23 Full Review Sebastian L This has to be one of the worst scripts ever, accompanied by nauseating camera work, strange pace/editing and the ugliest grading I've ever seen. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 10/24/23 Full Review Tony S It turns out that John McClain has a bad relationship with his son, but it's nothing that a rescue from Moscow can't improve.
