Live at the Beacon Theatre is a Duran Duran live album, released as a download by EMI on 27 September 2010.
About the album[]
The album is an incomplete recording of Duran Duran's performance during The Strange Behaviour Tour, at the Beacon Theatre in New York, USA on 31 August 1987.
This is the most complete version of the show available. There is a shorter edited version broadcast on the radio, which features on bootlegged on albums such as Duran At The Beacon.
The show was a charity event for The Association To Benefit Children. According to John Taylor the band thought the concert was the last of the tour, but just over four months later Duran Duran played two dates in South America. The audience received flyers detailing the event, which were placed on the backs of seats.
During the evening, Lou Reed appeared as special guest to sing "Sweet Jane" with Duran Duran. He also performed lead guitar on the track, with Simon Le Bon singing backing vocals.
Tickets for the event cost around $25.00.
