Donald "Don" Nicholl (9 August 1925 – 5 July 1980) was an English-American screenwriter and producer. His production company, Nicholl Ross West (with Michael Ross and Bernie West), produced the sitcoms All in the Family, The Jeffersons, Three's Company, and The Ropers.[1] Don was involved in a total of 77 episodes of AitF, 31 of which he also wrote, as well as 41 episodes of Three's Company and 28 of its initial spin-off series, The Ropers.
Born in Sunderland, England, Don worked as a journalist, columnist, and publicist in England, and moved to the United States in 1968. His widow Gee set up the Don and Gee Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting program after his death.
