A pasture by the sea, with a sculpture of the horse who lived there. Romantic leisure space for hiking, playing, and hanging out.

This is definitely a hidden gem. It is about 10 min drive out of downtown Tiburon. It is small, meticulously kept. It has clean lawn chairs dotted over the lawn, with a view of the Richmond bridge. It also has a great picnic area tucked away in one corner. There are two small parking lots ($5/car), plenty of space for a Monday afternoon. A great low key place to visit if you are in Tiburon.

About an hour hike from the ferry dock to the top of the island. You can see the island by tram, rental bike or bring your own bike on the ferry or hike the 5 mile perimeter loop. Biking takes about 1-2 hours. Restrooms along the perimeter route, food at the ferry dock. Take the first ferry if you aren going to rent a bike.

The trail to the Hippie tree and the views of the bay are outstanding. Hiking or walking your dog and imagine the pot-smoking, flower-power hippies hanging out under the tree in the 60es.

This is a large open space that affords terrific views of the Bay and marvelous Marin. This is a great place for an easy hike and still in the urban area.

We were walking along the waterfront and came across this museum. The gentleman working there was very friendly and full of historical facts. This stop was a great history lesson.

This little city which is a located on the northern side of the Golden Gate Bridge is a jewel! Its also the home of former comedienne Robin Williams. This city has just about everything the ferry, bike friendly, jogging trails, small business owners (mom and Pops), a small movie theater, great mix of international restaurants from italian to sushi, shopping, small lodge and boutique hotels, banks, vacation rentals,,,,,,, Very quiet and clean community. Its also away from the main freeway and best of all its not congested with people. There is a scenic park area which over looks the San Francisco bay area and the Golden Gate Bridge. Its family oriented and pet friendly. Its clean and very safe. All around its a beautiful place to spend your weekend or an all day stay.
They have special events from small concerts to small community gatherings, and festivities.

Great place for a leisurely stroll on a sunny day to enjoy superb Bay views, plus some well designed plant life. Beware of crowds on weekends and good days.

We went on the bike tour around the island and it was very hilly, so this was a great place to stop and take a break. My son is an Urban Seeker so he loves to take pictures of abandoned places especially when they have some history associated with them, and this place was perfect. It is embarrassing to read how we treated our fellow Americans during WWII and many people are unaware of our dark past. Worth a stop when you are on the Island.
