MediaTek Unveils the Dimensity 8250

0

Not too long after revealing its flagship Dimensity 9300+ chipset, MediaTek once again took to the stage to announce the Dimensity 8250, a new 4nm SoC. As such, the new chip slots just below its premium sibling, but doesn’t necessarily compromise when it comes to its capabilities.

For gaming and overall performance, the 8250 can reach clock speeds of up to 3.1GHz, in addition to 2X L3 cache, a powerful 6-core Mali-G610 graphics engine, as well as quad-channel LPDDR5. It also comes with support for MediaTek Adaptive Gaming Technologies for high framerate gameplay, without sacrificing power efficiency.

As for camera, the 8250 comes with 14-bit HDR-ISP and is capable of capturing up to 320MP photos and 4K60 video, along with what MediaTek calls “super anti-shake technology” for smoother-looking footage. Additionally, there’s AI-powered noise reduction for cleaner-looking photos.

The chip also features support for both 120Hz WQHD+ and 180Hz Full HD+ displays, enhances visuals with AI-powered SDR-to-HDR conversion and HDR10+ Adaptive support, and offers a bit of eye care with Smart BluLight Defender technology; also present is support for 4K AV1 media decoding.

With all that said, we can expect to see devices running on the Dimensity 8250 within the coming months.
