Mafia 42


Roles

There are 28 unique roles in mafia42. Seven of these roles belong to the mafia team, Nineteen belonging to the citizen team (major roles, special roles (list 1, list 2)) and the remaining two belonging to the cult team. There will be novice guides introducing each role under Strategies.

Abbreviations

Over time more experienced players started using abbreviations for certain roles and terms. Here's a list of these abbreviations and their meaning.

Skills and Abilities

The Mafia Team

The goal of the mafia team is to eliminate the citizen and cult team. This is typically achieved when the number of mafia members out number the remaining citizen and cult team. However, certain roles like politicians, gangster and judges are able to influence the voting system while other roles like prophet give a different win condition for the citizen team (or cult if converted). Your helper will not count towards mafia votes until you've met them (this means even if mafia roles outnumber others, the game will not automatically end) or if they get converted by the cult leader.

Citizen team

As a member of the citizen team, your goal is to lynch all members of the mafia team and the cult leader (and fanatic if they met before cult leader died). Citizens will win when all members of the mafia have been lynched and the number of citizens is more than the number of culted players and there is no role alive to convert more players. The exception to this rule is prophet, who automatically wins if they survive until day 4.

Cult Team

The cult team is a third team that is only present in games with at least 9 players. The cult leader will be present in any game that has at least 9 players and the fanatic will be in 12 player rooms only. The goal of the cult team is to convert enough players to out number the citizen team and lynch the mafia team. The cult leader is able to cult every odd night (1,3,5,etc...). While you can't directly convert priests and mafia, you are able to convert the mafia helper, ghoul and anyone hexed by the witch which may result in converting a priest or mafia.

Game Modes

In mafia42 there are 4 official game modes. You can select what type of game mode you want to play when creating a room. Each game mode has its own symbol; classic mode has a gun, duel mode has a card, sketch mode has a paint tray and lovers mode have a heart in a circle. In addition, chat rooms have speech bubbles as their logo.

Chat rooms are used to chat with friends. Please do not enter chat rooms and ask people to start the game as this gets irritating for older players who just want to relax. Ranked mode uses 8 player duel game rules. You cannot host your own rank rooms. Lastly, there's an unofficial mode made by the community called daily quest rooms. You can read more about these game modes by clicking the links below.

If you wish to create your own room, click on the new room button, select a game mode, make a title, the number of max players you want (8 and 12 are the most common). Your current options are classic, duel, lover survival and chat rooms.

Role Impersonation

If you're a villain role, it's likely that you will have to impersonate a role if you want to stay alive. If the citizens lose their way of gaining leads or gone too long without lynching any villains.

Depending on what stage the game is in, you can claim different roles that will help you stay alive longer. In early stages of the game you can claim major. However, some players will ask which major role. Some roles that classify as major include but are not limited to doctor, prophet, judge, priest, etc... Do note that real roles will call you out for being fake and some roles can be tested which will prove you're fake if you fail (Ex: game doesn't end day 4 for prophet). Other roles require you to fake from early on and be active to avoid being lynched like cop, hacker, mentalist and other roles which are active and give leads.

Remember, it's always better to claim a role then having no role. Citizens will automatically start lynching people with no roles after a certain time. Even if you're suspicious, you're more likely to stay a live then a non suspicious person without a role.

Strategies

The Mafia Team

Mafia

Your overall goal is to kill enough players to outnumber the citizen and cult team. Night 1 try discussing what roles each of you will be faking if asked so you don't counter claim each other. Once you've established contact with your helper, the game will get easier. You will have more information to work with or make eliminating the cop and doc easier. However, you should be cautious about speaking at night. If there a psychic, the dead will be able to tell her if someone "red chats" (mafia chat appear in a red box) or if a role like detective or cop has wiretapping they'll see your night messages after night 1 (they won't see the color, but based on the things you talk they can interoperate that you're mafia). Wait for your helper to give information and only ask if they don't on their own. If you have have cryptogram, your chat will only be visible to your team when starting it with a dot (.<chat>).

As a mafia you should be active and act like you're helping the citizens. Being silent and not talking will make seem suspicious, not afk. If someone from your team has been revealed by a confirmed role, don't go against the lead. Instead, you should act like you're going to vote them out, but you should try to balance votes on someone else who the players suspect.

Spy

The spy can find out the occupation of one player each night. You should try finding the mafia as soon as possible so you can give them leads afterwards. When claiming a role, you should pick one that mafia isn't likely to shoot like soldier. If you find cop or vigilante night 1, you should counter claim them and say you checked them and they're mafia. Claiming detective is also an option when you find a role that doesn't click at night. For example if you find a lover, prophet, reporter, etc... you can say they you're a failed det (a detective that lost their ability due to the selected person not moving).

If you get converted by the cult leader (or fanatic) and have met the mafia, you should inform the players that you're a culted spy and expose the mafia as you're now part of the cult team.

Hostess

The hostess, or more commonly known as "hoe", is able to block the skills of an occupation by seducing (voting) them. Like the spy, you want to meet the mafia as soon as you can unless you are able to seduce a cop or doctor; this will allow your team to kill whoever they need to or not have to worry about the cop finding them. Due to recent updates, you only need to seduce a person one time for the ability to be blocked until you're killed or lynched. Other roles worth seducing are politicians, martyr, judges and other roles that will get killed easily if seduced. Try hiding as roles that are less likely to get shot like soldier or roles that can claim seduced such as politician, judge, martyr, etc...

If you get converted by the cult leader (or fanatic) and have met the mafia, you should inform the players that you're a culted hostess and expose the mafia as you're now part of the cult team.

Thief

Each day the thief is able to steal the role of an occupation by clicking next to the players chat. You should also try to meet the mafia as soon as you can to prevent being killed by them. Claiming soldier or a role that you found that can be proven by lynching like martyr and politician. Like the spy, you should be giving information about roles to your mafia team. When you're getting lynched, steal a role that can work in your favor. If you steal martyr, take a confirmed major citizen role. Stealing politician will prevent you from being lynched one time, but will reveal you as thief. You can also interfere with the game by stealing psychic and awakening citizens so they can't give leads to psychic or steal a judge to prevent their skill from working (due to you and judge having same ability, the skills cancel out and will result in a majority vote).

If you get converted by the cult leader (or fanatic) and have met the mafia, you should inform the players that you're a culted thief and expose the mafia as you're now part of the cult team. If you steal the cult leader, you will automatically become converted and the bells will ring during the day. If you've met the mafia, expose them that day. If you don't they're likely going to kill you as you can change the shots and reveal them starting from the next day.

Beast Man

Unlike most of the helpers, the beast man cannot be killed by the mafia (unless they have snipe or clincher) and makes contact by getting shot (this will result in a silent night: it will look like no one was shot) or tapping the same person mafia kills. The unique ability of the beast man is you can eat (kill) anyone after making contact with the mafia. You ignore the doctors heal, lovers sacrifice, soldiers bulletproof, martyr self destruction and any other skill which would prevent someone from dying. Try to guess who the mafia will shoot in order to meet as soon as you can. Once you've met, your priority targets are the cop, doctor, prophet, psychic and other roles which pose a threat to the mafia team.

If you get converted by the cult leader (or fanatic) and have met the mafia you can either expose the mafia or control who dies. Your goal is to keep cult leader alive so make sure mafia doesn't kill them. If there are more people alive you can expose the mafia as it will be harder for the mafia to guess your cult leader. If there are less players alive when the mafia can figure out cult leader, try to switch the kill last second to avoid tap battles.

Witch

Witch is another helper that wants to meet mafia to avoid dying then start helping by hexing people. When you hex people, they get turned into frogs at the 10 second marker during the night and regain their original role when voting starts. Claim soldier or previously mentioned roles that are less likely to be shot. Witch function similarly to hostess, except you work at night by typing the exact name of the person you wish to hex and your skill only lasts from 10 seconds at night till voting. Your primary targets to hex are doctors, reporters, hackers if a cop is checking them, priests, vigilante and other roles which abilities trigger right as night turns to day.

If you get converted by the cult leader (or fanatic) and have met the mafia, you should inform the players that you're a culted witch and expose the mafia as you're now part of the cult team. If there's only 1 mafia left, you should continue hexing that mafia to prevent them from shooting (this won't work if there's at least 2 mafia alive). Be aware that hexed mafia can get culted, as well as hexed priests.

Mad Scientist (MS)

The job of the mad scientist is to stall the game for a mafia. After being shot or lynched, you will revive the next night (will show as day for non mafia members) or in 2 nights of you have distortion. Dying too soon will likely get you lynched back to back if there are no other villains to vote out. After dying, your identity is shared with the mafia and you establish contact upon reviving. Claim roles like judge, martyr, politician and other roles that can be tested by being lynched. Sometimes all it takes is 1 day for the mafia to win, so try to get your self lynched around the middle of the game, but not early on (in 8 player rooms, day 1 is fine as by day 2 the game will be 3v3).

If you get converted by the cult leader (or fanatic) and have met the mafia, you should inform the players that you're a culted mad scientist and expose the mafia as you're now part of the cult team.

Swindler

This role is like the thief without the risk of getting revealed to the soldier or to the cult leader. You should try to make contact to the mafioso's to not get shot. Always use memo and take notes of the players that can expose you such as: Ment, Rep, Det and Hacker. Swindler is a pretty much a weaker version of the thief as even they do not know the role of the player they have used their ability to. Try to survive as long as possible and to not get caught by the civilian team as you can be very useful to voting. One of the things you can do is claim a role and let others investigate you to not arouse any suspicion but make sure to use your skill so you wont get caught. You can also save a mafioso by switching your investigation with them so the mafia team can still kill other players to increase their chance of winning.

If you get converted by the cult leader(or fanatic) and have met the mafia, you should inform the players that you are now a culted swindler and expose the mafia as you're now part of the cult team.

Hitman(HM)

Starting Day 2, The hitman can kill two players by accurately guessing their roles. Try to meet the mafia as soon as you can to avoid being shot. Always memo everyone who reveals their roles, especially those who gives leads like the cop, det, ment, and hacker. When you choose one person as a mafia and another as a civilian role, you can meet the mafia if you guessed atleast one player correctly but the other player you chose will be disregarded even if you have chosen the correct role. So to maximize your likelihood of meeting them, try to guess two players as members of the mafia. As soon as you can, you must kill the cult leader, doctor, and the fanatic as they are important to the game.

If you get converted by the cult leader(or fanatic) and have met the mafia, you should inform the players that you are now a culted hitman and expose the mafia as you're now part of the cult team.

Principal Citizen Roles

Cop

As the cop your job is find all members of the mafia and get them lynched. Other than that, once you're confirmed you should do your best to lead the game for the citizens. You should check people fast during the night to avoid checking hexed people if there's a witch in the game, as this will show the hexed person as not a member of the mafia after the 10 second marker. Even if you have clean leads, you should share them on day 1 and be fast about it. If someone counterclaims you and you give late leads, this will make you look suspicious. By revealing, doc will know who to heal, other specials that can look for leads (Ex:rep, hacker, det) will check uncleaned people and there will be more leads by day 2. If you're aware of a hacker who used proxy (hacked) someone, you can check them. Even if you get a clean lead, you will still be able to confirmed that when you checked hacker your skill bounced to another player. For example, player 4 is hacker, but when you check hacker it will say player 6 is not a member of the mafia. This means that hacker is real and they used their skill on player 6. Remember, just because someone is not mafia doesn't mean they're not a villain. Cult leader, mafia helpers, and even mafia with hypocrisy will show as not a member of the mafia.

Doctor

When it comes to playing doctor your main job is to keep the cop alive so the citizens can find mafia and lynch them. Night 1 you should heal yourself, but considering making a code (a doc code is when doctor taps people in a pattern before ending on themselves. Ex: 1 3 6 on repeat and ending on yourself.)that a detective can say. You can also do this each night as you don't know when a detective will check you. After the cop has been revealed and confirmed (meaning only 1 cop, no counter claim or proven by reporter or hacker) then you should heal them. If there is a cop counter claim and a reporter reveals, heal the reporter. If you get converted by cult leader or fanatic, your new job is to make sure they stay alive. However, when cop is alive and someone other than them gets healed will make people assume that doc is culted and that their cult leader/fanatic was healed.

Vigilante

Vigilante, or more commonly referred to as vigi, only exists in duel rooms and has to be swapped out for the cop. It's not recommended to use vigi in rooms with over 8 players as there are more players and you can only use your purge ability once per game. Like the cop, you use your skill at night to select a player to purge. If the player is a mafia, they will be killed by your purge. Helpers, citizens, cult team will show as the player is not a member of the mafia.

In 8 player rooms, you can purge night 1 as you're likely to be counter claimed. If you fail you have leads, if you succeed a mafia dies. If you choose not to purge night 1, you need to lynch your counter claim or another member of the mafia. Ask doctor to heal you, as if you die your purge will fail even if you selected a mafia unless you have the creed ability which allows you to purge even if you get killed.

It's highly not recommended to use vigi in rooms with over 8 people as you can only give leads one time on game that is going to last longer. However, should you choose to use vigi, your best option is to not reveal your role and wait for someone to claim cop. Once they've claimed, you can either reveal and ask for a heal or just stay silent and hope you don't get shot at night so you can purge your cc.

Special Citizen Roles

Soldier

As the soldier your job is to get shot so you can reveal the mafia that shot you. If a spy conducts an investigation on you or a thief tries to steal you, you will learn their identity and you should inform the others. Be quick, as these roles will know that you've found them and will fake being soldier and act like you're the one who spied/stole them. Do note as soldiers are less likely to be shot, mafia helpers, cult leaders and some special roles will claim soldier so they're less likely to get shot. Don't immediately attack roles that claim you until you're certain they're a villain trying to hide (such as repeatedly saying they're real soldier). You can claim a special role that's hard to prove but likely to be shot such as a prophet which will force everyone claiming soldier to reveal their true roles.

Lover

You will be able to chat with your lover starting night 1. You should make 1 code for 8 player games, or each make a code in games where cult leader is present to prevent cult leader faking psychic by converting one of the lovers. Depending on the number of players in the game, know how many mafia, helper, special roles, cult leader and fanatic are present. You can check this under occupation information. Lovers confirm 2 specials, so keep this in mind when counting. Discuss with your lover who you suspect, try to figure out fake specials and pay close attention to the chats. As lover, most of your leads will come from the leads of other players and how they talk. Things like teaming, same leads and avoiding/changing topics should raise red flags.

Psychic

The psychic is able to see the chat of dead players during the day and can talk with them at night. In most games your goal is to stay hidden until until a mafia "red chats" or the cult leader "yellow chats". You also have the option of awakening (sac/saccing) dead players which will reveal the dead player occupation to you. However, this will cause them to longer be able to chat which can be more harmful than useful. Having dead players speaking can also give you lovers code which will help you to be proven. If a role like hacker or cop dies you can tell their leads to the alive players. Note that if you're hexed you will not be able to see dead chat until voting begins. If you get converted by the cult leader, you could try framing a non confirmed spec as cult saying the dead told you they had yellow chat.

Politician

Politicians are basically citizens who's votes count as 2 and cannot be lynched, unless seduced by a hostess. It's one of those roles that can win the game even if the citizens are out numbered due to their voting power. Generally you want to hide as a soldier or martyr so the mafia are less likely to shoot you. Overall you job is to help the citizens vote out the mafia and cult team. If everyone self votes on the 1st day you can choose to not vote so you won't be revealed or self vote and be revealed early on.

Reporter

As a reporter you have the ability to report someone at night which will reveal their role to everyone the next day. You should report counter claim of major roles such as cop and doctor. If you choose to hold on to your skill, report no later than night 3 as you may end up failing, meaning the person you want to report dies and there's no exclusive, and then you will be hard to prove as a reporter. If there are no counter claims then report people that are acting suspicious or someone without a role. If you attempt to use your skill but get hexed, you can try using your skill again, it won't be wasted.

Detective

The detective can check who another player taps at night. However, if you check someone who doesn't tap anyone you will fail and lose your skill for the rest of the game. To avoid losing your skill, don't use it the 1st night (unless you're playing ranked, but this is a novice guide) but rather use it night 2 to check a cop claim. After that you can prove cop and cop can prove you. Once you've been confirmed, you can try searching other players. You can make a guess on the role a player can be based on the amount of times they tap. One tap could be cop, gang, cult leader, fanatic, magician or spy. Two taps is almost guaranteed to be mentalist. More than 2 taps can be mafia, beast man, doc, vigi, reporter, martyr, or a nurse that met doc and doc died. Roles that tap dead people are either priest or psychic. Any other role can't tap at night, unless a thief stole one of the mentioned roles or a mafia that doesn't shoot. Remember in most games there are at least 2 mafias and only 1 of them has to tap to shoot. After revealing you should continue giving leads each day until you lose your skill or die.

Ghoul

Ghouls obtain the role of the 1st person who is killed by mafia on night 1. Any roles can be ghouled, but if you're hexed by the witch you won't ghoul anything. If there are 2 deaths on the 1st night, such as when mafia kill someone and vigi purges or martyr self destructs a mafia, you won't ghoul anything. Follow the other guides for the role that you ghoul. If you ghoul cop, you should reveal that you're a ghouled cop and cop has died (same goes for vigilante unless more than 8 players).

Martyr

Martyr's have two specials skills. They can kill the mafia that shot them if they tap the exact same mafia that shoots them (unless you have chain explosion), and they can take someone with them if they get lynched. These skills are called self destruction and immolation respectively. If a fake citizen calls you mafia, you could always agree to being lynched and take them with you, but be sure you count! Both a citizen and a mafia member get eliminated, but if the mafia lynch a citizen they are still generally ahead. You don't want to mart test (use immolation) on an odd number of people typically (7 and 5 generally) unless there are more players. Try to claim a role that mafia would want to kill, such as politician, prophet, etc..., and hope that you can guess which mafia will shoot you.

Priest

The priest is able to resurrect 1 player once per game. You should try holding on to your ability to resurrect important roles such as cop, doctor, prophet and judges. If a cult leader attempts to convert you, you will learn of their occupation and can expose them to other players the following day. If you're asked for a role early on, claim a hiding role (sol, martyr) so you won't be shot by the mafia. If you know a prophet has died, save your skill until night 4. If a prophet resurrects on day 4, the prophets team will immediately win the game. Be careful who you use your skill on, as you can resurrect mafia helper or cult leader too. If you notice mafia resurrecting that means a thief is stealing you. You have to stop talking or use your skill so they won't be able to steal it.

Gangster

Gangsters are able to threaten people (or more commonly known as, punch people" once per night. This will prevent that player from voting the following day. It's another one of those roles that can help the citizens win even if they're outnumbered. In larger rooms it's ok to random punch the first 1 or 2 nights, but if you punch a citizen and cause citizens to have less votes than the mafia team, the mafia will win atomically without outnumbering the citizens. Only use your skill on people you suspect to be villains, but don't go around punching your own team as you're going to lose fast.

Magician

The magician is able to trick, or more commonly known as cage, people once per game during the night. When you get killed or lynched, you will take the body of the player you caged and they will die. It will look like you're the one that died and you will have to inform the players next day that you've caged the player you're speaking as. For example, if 1 is magi and they cage 5, when 1 dies, they will speak as 5 and 5 will die. You are not able to used the caged person abilities. However, thief can steal the role of the person you've caged and use it. Do not cage night 1 as you risk caging a major role such as cop or doc and if they're gone day 1 you're almost guaranteed to lose. If you get resurrected by a priest, you will go back to your original "body" and the person who you caged will be resurrected in their own. If you get converted as magi, you only count as the cult team when you're alive in your own body. If you cage someone and they get converted and you aren't, a cult win will result a a loss for you as your original body belongs to the citizen team.

Hacker

Once per game during the day before voting you are able to hack another player by typing /hack <exact name of the player> or number if playing ranked. This role is only usable in duel rooms. Once you've hacked someone, you will learn the occupation of the player at the start of the next next unless hacking fails due to the player being lynched or hostess seducing you. After you hack someone and it succeeds, any skills directed at you will be redirected to the person you hacked (aka bounce). When hacking, you can reveal if there isn't a hostess or witch to hinder your ability. This will let other roles like cop confirm you. If you get seduced or hexed, skills used on you will not bounce. Hack major roles with counter claims, quiet people or people without roles. Try to use your skill by day 2 so you can give leads day 3 else you'll become suspicious later on.

Judge

As the judge, you have the power to control who gets lynched and who doesn't regardless of how many people agree or disagree. After you reveal yourself by overturning a vote, only your vote will matter and only your decision to agree or disagree will matter. Another one of the roles that can help citizens win even if out numbered, you're a high priority for the mafia to eliminate. Until you get reveal, try to hide as soldier or martyr to prevent dying soon. With some (or a lot of) luck, a judge and doctor combo and lynch an entire mafia team. A converted judge should prevent their cult leader from being lynched. In some scenarios the judge can win for the cult team even if the fanatic and cult leader have died.

Prophet

Like the vigilante and hacker, prophet is only playable in duel mode. The job of the prophet is survive until day 4 which will result in an instant win for the citizen or cult team. Hide as soldier, martyr or risk revealing your role day 1. This may make the mafia think you're a role that's trying to get shot and will ignore you. If you're aware of a priest, let them know you're a prophet. Even if you die but get resurrected by day 4, your team will win. Being hexed by a with will prevent your skill, revelation, from triggering until you turn back to a prophet when voting starts.

Nurse

Your primary objective as a nurse is to establish contact (get healed) by the doctor. This will be difficult as doctor will self heal night 1 and be on cop afterwards. However, you can try informing doc that you're a nurse. This will likely results in you or the cop dying or one of you being healed. If you have bullhorn, use it night 1 to avoid forcing a doc to gamble on who to heal. If you meet, you will learn who the doctor is and you'll be able to heal people after they die.

Mentalist

Each night the mentalist is able to select two players and check if they're on the same or opposite team. This role is more useful in 8 player rooms as there are only 2 teams. In 9 or more player rooms, you can find: citizen citizen (same), citizen mafia (opposite), citizen cult (opposite), mafia mafia (same), mafia cult (opposite) or cult cult (same). With the new balance update, you can now know which players belong to what team if your skill tells you that they are in a different team. This is very helpful as you dont have to check other players with a confirmed role to have a good lead. You should state your leads each day to other players. Overall you have the power of a 2nd cop so you have to be careful not to get shot by the mafia's.

Mercenary

This role allows you to kill other players like the mafia only when certain circumstances are met. At Night 1, you will be assigned a client but they will not know who you are. When that client dies, you can now kill anyone you would like to. This ability does not have any limitations like the vigilante's [Purge] skill(that only applies to mafia), but this can still be interrupted with the doctor's [Heal] and the nurse [Prescribe]. When your client that died gets resurrected, you can still use your [Request] skill. Also, if you have died before your client and manages to get resurrected, you can still use your skill but only when your client had died too. Take note that you can only use [Request] when your client is killed at night by the mafia team so lynching(voting) them wont work. Also know that your client is not part of the mafia team but could be a part of the cult team.

Administrator(Admin)

As an administrator or admin, you will be given a list of roles every night which will appear at the top-right side of your screen. These roles are limited to the Special Citizen role, Special citizen role 2, and the doctor, but with the [Track] skill, you can search the helpers of the mafia team. On the first day, you should try to select the doctor to be able to defend him when getting lynched. With the admin's ability, you can confirm other players who have revealed to their or be the spy of the civilian team.

Cabal

As a cabal, you can win by choosing the other cabal while they also choose you at night. Until daytime, you won't know if you've chosen another cabal. Be aware that this skill will only work if you both choose one another. You will know if you have discovered another cabal but they wont if they haven't found you. You need to wait till they use their skill on you by continuing to choose them every night. One of the things you can do is admit that you are a cabal on voting time and ask the other cabal to use their skill on you to not get voted out by the mafia and cult team as you meeting them will surely be a civilian team win. Take note that even if one or both of the cabal gets converted into the cult team, it would still be a civilian team win if they found each other. When this happens, you shouldn't try to find the other cabal anymore and instead use your skill on other players which you are sure is not a cabal.

The Cult Team

Cult Leader

The objective of the cult leader is to convert enough people to out number the citizen team and lynch the mafia team. You are able to convert a player every odd night starting night 1. Mafia and priests can't be culted unless they're hexed by a witch or you convert a ghoul who then robs one of these roles. Converting early will make it less likely that you get caught by a detective, while culting after the 10 second mark, you have a chance to convert people you can't normally if there's a witch, but you can also get hexed which will stop you from converting so be careful if you choose to wait. If you find a mafia you can try impersonating cop then giving random leads for the rest of the game or claim hacker and reveal mafia day 2 or day 3 if you want to play it safe. Lastly you can reveal mafia with very little time to vote (send msg around 3 sec left) and vote a random person. This will let fanatic meet you night 2, citizens will know a mafia and you're likely going to be shot night 2 forcing mafia to waste a day. Prioritize converting roles that will help you later on such as doctor, judge, poli, gang and mafia helpers.

Fanatic

Fanatic only exists in 12 player rooms. Each night you can check if someone is part of the cult team or not, but your goal is to find the cult leader. If you find the cult leader or they try to convert you, you will be able to continue converting every odd night after the cult leader dies. You're automatically part of the cult team, so even if you don't get converted you should still be trying to help eliminate both mafia and citizens. You could try impersonating cop and giving clean leads on people you find to be part of the cult team and frame those that aren't. If a cult leader reveals, you should meet them the following night as they're likely to die soon. Your conversion skill functions the same as the cult leaders, meaning you won't be able to convert mafia and priests unless hexed by a witch.
