Our Story

We are proud to be a church of the United Church of Christ and The Wisconsin Conference. The United Church of Christ values meaningful worship, educational integrity, social justice and evangelism. We believe in living out our faith in the Good News of Jesus Christ through service, fellowship and worship.

The Congregational United Church of Christ of Neenah/Menasha represents a diverse gathering of faithful people from all walks of life. We value the personal relationships that are formed through a community of acceptance and love. We do so, not because it’s the popular thing to do but because it’s the right thing to do. We believe it’s a reflection of the God who is revealed in Jesus Christ. We are an Open and Affirming Congregation.

Worship is the central activity of our life together as a congregation. We offer thanksgiving to God through a blended style of worship, combining traditional hymns and modern songs. We value both the classic sounds of a pipe organ as well as the beauty of the piano.

Our choir sings from September – May, offering a diversity of styles from modern gospel to traditional anthems. The Sunday School Singers present a fun and lively offering of music during the school year. We love and value the presence of children in worship and encourage them to sit up front so they can see and interact with the service better. We provide a selection of age appropriate activity bags that contain a variety of things to help keep little hands busy and engaged in the service.  For the safety of all, we have in place a Safe Conduct policy.

Sermons are Biblically based and serve to educate about the Bible and relate life issues with faith. Communion is served on the first Sunday of the month. We rejoice to celebrate an open communion table, recognizing that Christ is the host and invites all to participate. We use non-alcoholic grape juice and offer gluten-free alternatives.

Our Mission Statement:

United Church of Christ Statement of Faith

We believe in you, O God, Eternal Spirit, God of our Savior Jesus Christ and our God, and to your deeds we testify:

You call the worlds into being, create persons in your own image, and set before each one the ways of life and death.

You seek in holy love to save all people from aimlessness and sin.

You judge people and nations by your righteous will declared through prophets and apostles.

In Jesus Christ, the man of Nazareth, our crucified and risen Savior, you have come to us and shared our common lot, conquering sin and death and reconciling the world to yourself.

You bestow upon us your Holy Spirit, creating and renewing the church of Jesus Christ, binding in covenant faithful people of all ages, tongues, and races.

You call us into your church to accept the cost and joy of discipleship, to be your servants in the service of others, to proclaim the gospel to all the world and resist the powers of evil, to share in Christ’s baptism and eat at his table, to join him in his passion and victory.

You promise to all who trust you forgiveness of sins and fullness of grace, courage in the struggle for justice and peace, your presence in trial and rejoicing, and eternal life in your realm which has no end.

Blessing and honor, glory and power be unto you. Amen.
