Cobra Kai continues the Karate Kid franchise with a blend of pleasantly corny nostalgia and teen angst, elevated by a cast of well-written characters.

Brad Newsome Sydney Morning Herald This marvelous sequel series to The Karate Kid isn't just a huge suckerpunch of nostalgia for kids of the '80s. It's also a sharp, dry comedy of the kind we've come to expect these days Sep 30, 2020 Full Review Alex McLevy AV Club This could all fall apart pretty easily... but right now I like the harsh tone and unsparing assessment of misguided men stumbling into something bigger than either of them. Dec 22, 2018 Full Review Danette Chavez AV Club I struggled with the premise of middle-aged white dudes reigniting their rivalry, but while I doubt I'll binge the first season, my interest has definitely been piqued. Dec 22, 2018 Full Review Elisa Guimarães Collider More often than not, the show’s storylines get more repetitive than a kata lesson -- but we still love it. Feb 1, 2024 Full Review Fausto Ponce Alta Fidelidad Magazine It's funny, clever and has the necessary dramatic elements to come up with something moving, without losing sight of its comedic essence. Marcus M Just finished season 1, and I loved it! Everything from the characters to the action to the story works and blends itself perfectly into each other. The characters and dynamics are incredible, and you get to see the other story of the Karate Kid. Also, the character arcs that each person goes on is better than amazing! Love it, would 1000% recommend! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 05/27/24 Full Review Audience Member JUST AWESOME! WATCHED IT THREE TIMES! SEASON 1 THROUGH 5, WAITING FOR SEASON 6, WRITING @ 2024 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/26/24 Full Review Leonia M Very good even though it isn’t my favorite season cough season 2 cough it’s a very good season and how reboots should be good Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 05/25/24 Full Review Santino P The best start of a series, without a doubt this tremendous masterpiece has it, good characters, tremendous actors, and impeccable dubbing, the development of the characters is spectacular, if you are looking for action, development and depth the beginning of this legendary series is for you. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/19/24 Full Review Fetti Mixes nostalgia, teen drama and action thrills in humorous, loveable first season. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/16/24 Full Review Nyah P This was so hard to get into. The first couple of episodes—let's be honest—suck. It starts slowly getting better each episode and it does pay off during the season finale. It is a very entertaining show to watch but some episodes lack plot and it's very predictable. There is some diversity but it mainly focuses on white characters with the exception of a young Latinx boy(Miguel). The second season is a lot better so I would say watch it, don't miss out, but don't expect something crazy good from it. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 11/27/23 Full Review Read all reviews
