WEBSTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Aiden Nelson’s 2-run double in the seventh capped off a late rally by Fairport to take down Schroeder 4-2.

The game began as a pitcher’s duel. Schroeder’s Jack Kelly and Nathan VanDeVoorde of Fairport allowed one run each through five innings of play.

The bats came alive in the sixth. Kelly knocked a RBI double to right center to bring home Jack Simpson and give the Warriors the 2-1 lead.

In the seventh inning, Fairport’s John Gossin got the scoring started with an infield-single that allowed Jackson Rucker to score and tie the game up. Later in the inning, the Red Raiders took the lead after Nelson went fishing to knock a double to center that plated two runners.

Fairport (13-4) will square off against Schroeder (11-4) again this Wednesday, May 8th. The game will be held at Fairport High School.
