Fantastic food exceptional service. The food was excellent and Allen was an exceptional server. The service was swift without being overbearing. The food was served hot and quickly even though the restaurant was full. Make reservations early as this is a popular place. I will definitely return. The host Michael was welcoming and gracious.

My husband and I & another couple recently experienced dinner at Irene’s after reading the glowing reviews on Tripadvisor. We were very disappointed by the quality of the meals presented to us . The lasagna , my go to dish in an unfamiliar Italian restaurant, was quite unpleasant in both taste and texture . Our friends chose a chicken dish & the chicken was extremely dry . So disappointed. The positives were the service and the ambiance. Don’t go for the food …

Once entering Restaurant, staff makes you feel welcome. Entering Bar area & seated as we wait for our reservation , superb drink selection & wine list & top notch quality drinks, plus a great piano player for your entertainment. Once seated for our dinner reservation in the dinning area at the correct time, Service, Food & Dessert selection were Outstanding. Food selections were very delicious. The staff , waiters , chef & staff work very hard to make your dinning experience the Best. Highly Recommend.

This is truly one of the best restaurants in all of NOLA. The service is always good and the food is always on point. Joe was our server this evening and hit it out of the park with his attentiveness. We always enjoy seeing old family and friends here. We love even more bringing people to dine. We highly recommend and look forward to returning.

Atmospheric dining room, fabulous food and friendly attentive staff. Thoroughly recommend to everyone! Probably best meal we had in a city known for its food!

Beautiful location with some great shows, but the service appears to have declined drastically since covid (?) They seem to have lost sokeof the better, natural service -person types staff. Some new additions appear great but some of the longer-standing staff clearly are just "doing a job" and seem to resent everything (do they even play music? Do they even like music? Or just need the money? It is easy to see which does and doesn't really ) One of the longed standing ones was observed coughing all over cutlery without even covering their moith.. (really?.. ) They appeared sheepish but also irritated, only after they knew they'd been seen doing this realized (again, really..?) The bearded gentleman (manager?) maybe responsible for these cultural oversights, he presents as affable and outgoing but lingers far too long at tables (does he think he is The Show?) when people just want to enjoy the atmosphere...

One of my all time favorite meals! Service - Top Notch, Hunter was a professional and set the bar for all others. Can’t praise him enough as the primary server and the team supporting him. Always was on the spot when needed, recommendations were exceptional from appetizers to main selections. Ambiance - new location, moved from a smaller venue. The courtyard was beautiful, can’t wait to return to enjoy the space. Pianist and vocalist, true individual performer enhancing the experience! Food - absolutely amazing / incredible. Insert any positive comment here…when one of your guests is a James Beard recipient and he raves about the meal - nothing else to say. Room dedicated to Saint Joseph, absolutely beautiful. Didn’t sit in the room, had a view of it. You will not go wrong making this a special occasion venue or just wanting to enjoy an over the top experience. Simply put - they nailed it!

Exquisite fish dishes at this restaurant. The red fish from the Gulf with almonds was great! The caprese was good too. The cheesecake was amazing. The panned oysters looked good too.

Location great. Ambience and style of restaurant fabulous. Pianist - who went out of his way to play stuff we wanted to hear - was great entertainment. Servers were friendly and helpful. Food was super - menu choices don't try to offer too much. The quality was excellent - tasty stuff. Wine list is comprehensive and decent prices. Overall a great experience in the French Quarter - a wee gem.

We have been coming to Irene‘s for the past 20 years or so, including the last five in the new location. Tonight was by far the best meal we have had, and all the times we have come here. The food was delicious, and the presentation was, perfect. The service by AJR server was wonderful, there was nothing else he could do to make our evening more enjoyable. I tried all of the entrées, and they were all terrific, we shared the cioppino, the duck, and the goldfish Amandine. The tiramisuwas also delicious. Can’t wait to come back.

We arrived at 8 PM for our 8 PM reservation and had to wait on the people who did not make a reservation to be turned away and another group to be seated. Apparently, there was only one hostess. We were not greeted by anyone while the hostess was away seating the other people. The hostess greeted us without much of a smile which was off-putting. We were seated in one of the dining rooms. The dining room had red painted walls and medium dark wood paneling with a fireplace with a ornate mantel clock. The floor is a tan tile. The wood chairs were padded with a brown pad The chair mainly black with a wood medium wood hue top rail. The tables had white tablecloths and napkins which had flatware in the center. There were white bread plates and water glasses all restaurant supply quality. There was a chandelier from a ceiling of light wood beams partially covering the real ceiling. The walls were decorated with pictures, a mirror, light, and plates on sconces. The table spacing was close but not too close together. The gives a upscale dining feel. The wine list covered all the basics focusing on Italian wines and was reasonably priced. Our waiter arrived and described the specials and Soup de Jour which was Italian Wedding Soup. He asked our water preference and returned it to the table. We ordered wine and our meal. Bruschetta was delivered by our waiter as a welcoming bite. Wine was delivered. Our waiter then disappeared. Another waiter finally approached and informed us our waiter had suffered an injury and would not be back. The upside was we got a second bruschetta plate. It was one of the best bruschetta we have had. The tomatoes actually tasted like tomatoes. The bread was just thick enough that it did not crumble when bitten but could still be eaten without a struggle. The olive oil was fresh and vibrant. We ordered again and our food arrived. My wife had the Italian Wedding Soup which was flavorful and contained the mini meatballs, pasta and greens. I had the Mussels Marinara which were steamed in white wine & light marinara. I was expecting an appetizer portion of 12 or so mussels. I received at least 2 dozen mussels. They were delicious. It was one of the top three mussel dishes I have ever ate and would happily order it again. I had the Duck St. Philip which was roasted crispy, glazed with a pecan, raspberry pancetta demi, served with a sweet potato mash and fresh spinach. It also came with grapes. My wife had the Lasagna Bolognese with house made pasta, ricotta cheese, ground veal, Italian sausage & marinara. The duck was cooked properly with the fat rendered from the skin leaving it crisp and delectable. It has become harder over the years to find a properly cooked duck. This is one of them. The demi glaze went well. The sweet potatoes and spinach were perfect accompaniments. The grapes were an added surprise. My wife enjoyed her lasagna and said it was one of the best that she had ever had. I tasted it and it was very good. We were very full and did not get dessert. The grapes were the only item not finished, but made a good addition to breakfast the next day. The waiters were friendly and hospitable. The service other then the one incident was smooth and efficient. We had a great meal. Everything was reasonably priced. I am looking forward to returning in the future.

Lovely place. They gave us a table without us reserving a spot. We were pooped after a full day of sightseeing and happened to cross the restaurant and looked lovely from the outside. My 8 yo daughter loved the spaghetti with meatballs! Very friendly servers . Definitely worth checking this out.

My wife and I took our son and his wife for no special reason. We had dined there several years ago and had good memories. This time it was even better. The hostess, Jamie Lynn, had accommodated us with a 7:00 reservation and greeted us warmly and seated us at the perfect table. Our server, Nikki, was very courteous and professional and made our dining even better. The food and drinks were exceptional and we all enjoyed the entire experience. When we visit NOLA next, we definitely will dine there.

French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
