The city view is a must visit. We had the chance to visit the museum and church. The streets and the houses on the streets are wonderful

This castle is a gem as it is so well organized to give vivid insights into the political history, dynasty of rulers, evolution of weaponry, etc that it makes for a very interesting visit. Allot at least a few hours for your tour.

This is a magnificent church easily accessible on any walkabout in Old Town Nuremberg. It is stately looking from the street and has a glorious interior.

We found a free parking space not too far from the entrance - worth looking for, because this is a working courthouse, not just a museum, and we did not see any open public lots close by. We stayed for about an hour – not enough time to go through all the exhibits or hear the testimonies, but (barely) enough to get a sense for what was there. What I had not realized before the visit was the extent to which the Nuremberg trials continued after the highest-ranking accused officials were tried – the trials continued for over another year, which meant that there were many opportunities for “new” lawyers to gain experience in what has become the field of international criminal law. Highly recommend a longer visit.

The take aways from the 2 hour walking tour were these:
    1. Everything was done on a massive scale to show laymen Germans —and the rest of the world— that Germany Was Back! The economic debilitation they suffered from the Treaty of Versailles after losing WW1 was over. The scale used was often many times larger that other historical landmarks, such as the Coliseum in Rome. Size equals power.
    2. Designs and ceremonies incorporated religious symbolism. The majority of the German population was very faithful, and this usage was familiar and comforting to them.
    3. The grounds would host up to half a million people for a week in September. Every group of the Reich had a day to demonstrate their strengths. The idea was to show that the Third Reich was the natural extension of the German story and would dominate history for the next thousand years.
All was based on the concept that you are with us and you do not want to excluded. Construction ground to a halt when the men building it headed off to invade Poland in 1939.

This was one of the best cultural history museums I've visited. The exhibitions cover a wide range of topics spanning thousands of years, from Prehistory to the 20th century. Thus, one can learn about the political history of German-speaking people, military history, religion, crafts and arts, medicine, etc.
Some exhibitions were closed due to renovations, but that shouldn't be a problem since it's impossible to see all exhibitions in one day (I mean seeing, not just walking through them)
The exhibitions are very detailed, there's a lot of information and what surprised me the most was that all of it was in English as well. One might expect to find this in a big city such as Berlin or Munich, but for a city of Nuremberg's size, this sure was a pleasant surprise.
There are audio guides that I haven't used since that would have only taken us longer.

Only one thing that could be improved in my opinion: more English books in the museum shop. Also, maybe more souvenirs specific to the exhibitions, since most of the souvenirs there were quite generic to other museums.

Wonderful history in those walls, good closure to a lot of history as well. They have a small set up but enough to get the whole view of the history that happened in don’t give it 5 stars because i wanted them to explain a bit more the beginnings of the war

Nuremberg as several beautiful churches and given that 90 % of the Old Town was taken out by the Allies in WW2 it is astonishing to find them in the condition we get to see today. Step in to enjoy : )

Genuinely one of the best zoos I’ve ever visited; a huge variety of animals, many of which I’ve rarely seen in zoos before, each in large and comfortable exhibits. The manatee house is simply outstanding. Do be sure to wear comfortable shoes though; I managed nearly 20000 steps traversing the whole park!

My son loves trains, especially german trains! He was so excited and loved the whole museum. I liked the the retro part of the museum , made me feel old! Lol
Our son also liked the kinder “touch and olay” area and riding the little train.
Wish the model train display was operating but maybe next time.

The building is located near the castle among other old half-timbered houses. The famous painter’s father was Hungarian, so it’s a must-see site for us. Durer bought the house in 1509 and he lived there until his death (1528). It was renovated in 1971. Now it’s a museum with the documents and objects of the famous painter.
