With a 10:1 student-to-faculty ratio, our students experience the unique level of student-faculty commitment that can only be found at a private college. Hiram combines this ideal student-to-faculty ratio with a range of majors and minors, and a plethora of real-world experience through internships and experiential learning opportunities.

Additionally, our 500-plus-acre biological field station offers students opportunities that can’t be found on most campuses, including caring for more than 30 onsite animal ambassadors, rehabilitating wildlife, engaging in field research, and maintaining several natural areas under the direction of faculty and professional staff. As you can see, when you join our small college in Ohio, you get the hands-on training you need to prepare yourself for the field.

At Hiram, we offer 33 majors, 37 minors, numerous pre-professional concentrations, and two dual-degree opportunities. From nursing degrees to accounting degrees and beyond, we have varied programs that will appeal your interests and fulfill your career goals.

Students who graduate from private Ohio colleges like Hiram are well-equipped for career placement, and we’re proud to maintain a 95% rate of employment after graduation among our alumni. Hiram also provides a number of internship and field station opportunities for our students, as we recognize the importance of such undertakings, and we promote the value of real-life, hands-on learning opportunities and experiences.

Hiram College is nestled in the quiet town of Hiram, Ohio, allowing students to enjoy the picturesque views and easygoing pace than an archetypal college town offers. Campus life at our eclectic liberal arts college provides students with a home away from home, but we are also conveniently centrally located between Akron, Youngstown, and Cleveland, Ohio. Our small Ohio college’s close proximity to these major cities gives students the opportunity to get away on the weekends, take some exciting day trips, and visit a host of great restaurants, shops, museums, concert halls, and so much more!

Best yet, Hiram College offers a wide range of sports, clubs, and organizations, and we encourage students to be involved in campus activities and functions. The field station also hosts a variety of events throughout the year aimed at getting all students involved in environmental outreach, learning about native wildlife, and campus sustainability.
