Adam Scott, who played Ben Wyatt in Parks and Recreation, discussed whether the sitcom would be rebooted. The series ran for seven seasons between 2009 and 2015.

Michael Schur and Greg Daniels created the political satire mockumentary, and it starred Amy Poehler, Nick Offerman, Rashida Jones, Chris Pratt, and Aubrey Plaza. The series holds a 93% Rotten Tomatoes score from the critics and 90% from the audience, its rating increasing dramatically after its six-episode Season 1. Parks and Rec became a fan-favorite sitcom, and Adam Scott revealed who is in charge of deciding whether the series should get a reboot.

Chris Pratt Injured Doing Own Stunts on the Set of Upcoming Sci-Fi Thriller

Chris Pratt wanted to get involved in the stunts for his upcoming film, but that ended with an injury.

Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, the topic of Parks and Recreation and a possible reboot came after discussing the sitcom Party Down, which premiered in 2009 and returned with Season 3 in 2023, following the characters ten years later. "Party Down was super fun, and I got to have a hand in sort of one of the five or six of us who kind of got to push that boulder up the hill and it was just such a blast," Scott started. "Parks and Rec is a completely [different thing] with Mike [Schur] and Amy and Greg and all of those wonderful people’s decision, and if they would ever be interested in doing something like that, it would be up to them."

The Severance actor continued, "But I mean, I would go get a sandwich with all of those people. I wouldn’t have to be shooting the show. I just love all of ’em so much. I mean, the show itself sort of had a real ending."

The actors reprised their characters with a special episode during the pandemic, which Scott also addressed. "We did do something over the pandemic where we all got back together and made an episode [to raise money for Feeding America]. I don’t know if there would ever be any more, but I mean, I really don’t know. I love the show and love all the people. It’s always fun seeing any of them. I haven’t seen the show in a long time just because I miss it and I feel like it would be sad to watch it, but it’s just such a lovely show and lovely group of people."

'Time to Move On': The Office Star Rainn Wilson Weighs in on Recent Jell-O Prank

Rainn Wilson enjoyed the recent The Office-themed prank, but he wouldn't like to go through it again.

Why Parks and Recreation Doesn't Need a Reboot

The series, which comes from the same people behind the sitcom The Office, struggled to find a rhythm in Season 1. It slowly evolved, and with Scott and Rob Lowe's additions halfway through Season 2, the show finally grew into what it should've been from the start, becoming one of the best TV series of all time. However, it's also one of the shows that shouldn't get a reboot.

Although it's a common trend to reboot series (even The Office has a reboot in the works), Parks & Rec delivered a perfect ending. The series showed a flash-forward scene in its last episode, drawing a clear path for all the main characters. Although other actors on the series, like Amy Poehler and creator Michael Schur, have expressed their interest in reviving the sitcom, the series is better off as is. Although the Parks and Recreation reunion episode was beloved by the fans, bringing the crew back together might risk ruining the show's perfect ending.

Parks and Recreation is streaming on Peacock.
