Says star and New Orleans native Wendell Pierce, "The only things people had to hang on to were the rich traditions we knew that survived the test of time before: our music, food and family, family that included anyone who decided to accept the challenge to return." The large ensemble cast is supported by notable real-life New Orleanians, including many of its famous musicians. Read More Read Less Watch on Fandango at Home Premiered Jan 16 Buy Now

Kate Abbott Guardian The whole series works like a meandering melody, sometimes richocheting off into snappy, yappy set-tos, sometimes lilting and slurring through a long night of live jazz and triple bourbons. May 25, 2018 Full Review Ruth Franklin The New Republic [David] Simon is exquisitely sensitive to the signifiers of insiderness and outsiderness that separate the authentic from the fake, the native from the poseur. May 25, 2018 Full Review Scott Tobias AV Club It's a series that affirms - with humor, tenderness, insight, and a rich sense of regional music and custom - Simon's love of humanity and its resilience in the face of trying circumstances. Rated: A May 25, 2018 Full Review Randy Dankievitch Processed Media There aren't many shows that have significant cultural importance, and Tremé is among the best of them. Rated: A- Feb 12, 2020 Full Review Nicholas Lemann The New York Review of Books Treme would seem to be quite similar to The Wire: a synoptic portrait of a poor, old, troubled, black-majority American city, expressed through the intertwined unfolding stories of a group of characters. But there are several important differences... Nov 5, 2018 Full Review Dustin Rowles Pajiba Is "Treme" worth watching? As a history lesson in post-Katrina New Orleans, it absolutely is. It's as good a historical artifact of a certain time and place as you are likely to see. Jun 19, 2018 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member The acting from just about the entire cast is stellar and it had some touching moments but a lot of it is just too slow and the whole Indian side story and sewing costumes was about as riveting as watching paint dry. Who cares !! And unless you really like that music which I don't you can find yourself using the fast forward button a lot. Decent at best but pretty much another opportunity for David Simon to show us how mind numbingly pretentious he can be. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review andrei d The Goodman turn is a little unearned Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review ma'ark t Treme is a great snapshot of a tragic time in one of America's iconic cities. I appreciated it even more, having been to NOLA myself. My only critiques would be that it is a little slow and the characters were hard to like.
