Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

As a native New Orleanean I am qualified to say that the Poorboy sandwiches are inauthentic—not made with true New Orleans French bread, small and virtually no lettuce, tomatoes and such. Crawfish stew was excellent as was the crawfish etouffee. Service was great and workers...More

I end up going here a few times per year, and today was quite disappointing. I was with my developmentally disabled sister, treating her to lunch. We sat down, and literally hadn't looked at the menus before we were asked what we wanted to drink....More

Tonight was the worst attempted dining experience I’ve ever had. We came in with a party of 20, we told them we wanted to all sit together and were told it would be 1 hour, no problem, we were expecting to wait since we had...More

A friend of mine came to town. He enjoys oysters and beers, as I do. I immediately thought of Chimes. I called and they still have the half price oyster 4-7 and sll day Tuesday. Restaurant arranged for social distancing with staff wearing mask. Along...More

Chimes used to be great but over the last year it has become almost terrible. They still serve a ton of beers but the food has taken a nose dive. Don’t get the nachos, it’s basically a snack bag with almost nothing on it. All...More

Chimes is a very popular restaurant, but the food is just average for the New Orleans area. The outdoor dining and the setting are really nice. Our oyster po'boy was decent, but it’s not on the menu (why not?). The stuffed shrimp were just okay....More

Always consistent. Best chargrilled oysters on the northshore. A go too for when family or friends visit from out of town. Great atmosphere, great drink selection (highly recommend the swamp bucket), and great prices for the value. Highly recommend.

I visited the Covington Chimes before Christmas. The food was nice and the service was ok. It is a good place for working lunches. There is room for improvement. I do use their carry out service often and my wife loves their Etouffee.

Another loud and noisy restaurant that delivers the bare minimum when it comes to service. Food is okay. Believe me, nothing special, and way overpriced for what you get. The outdoor area that leads to the river is by far the best part of this...More

Really good set up with great indoor and outdoor seating options. My wife loved the oysters & I had the shrimp po boy that was also good. I wouldn’t drive far to go here but if you’re in Covington, it’s a good option.

Cajun/southern menu and food was good, lots of seafood options. Service was also good but not great. That said, it's in a really neat location on a Bayou. So if you go, sit outside and eat, and it's an enjoyable meal.

I don't know if there is a separate menu for Children. However, the menu I had did have some kid friendly items such as Chicken tenders and French fries.
