Friedrich V Hohenzollern was a member of the aristocracy in Europe.

Biography

Friedrich was born 8 May 1460 at Ansbach, the second surviving son of Albrecht Achilles, Kurfürst von Brandenburg (Elector of Brandenburg) and the eldest son with his second wife, Anna of Saxony.[1]


In the 1486 division of territory after the death of his father, he received Ansbach, and then after the death of his brother Sigmund in 1495, he received Bayreuth. He founded the elder line of the Margraves of Brandenburg in Ansbach and Bayreuth.[2]

He had married 14 February 1479 at Frankfurt am der Oder, Sophie of Poland, daughter of Kazimierz IV Jagiellonczvk, Grand Prince of Lithuania and King of Poland,

They had 17 children;[2]; [1]

  1. Elisabeth, born 30 June 1480 at Kadolzburg, was baptised 2 July 1480 but died young, sometime after that date;
  2. Kasimir, born 27 September 1481 at Schloss Ansbach, succeeded as Markgraf von Ansbach;
  3. Margarete, born 10 January 1483 at Schloss Ansbach, baptised 12 January 1483 at Pfarrkirche, Ansbach, died unmarried 10 July 1532;
  4. Georg 'der Fromme', born 4 March 1484 at Ansbach, succeeded as Markgraf von Ansbach;
  5. Sophia, born 10 March 1485 at Schloss Ansbach, baptised 12 March 1485 in Schlosskapelle, married 14 November 1518, Friedrich II von Liegnitz;
  6. Anna, born 5 May 1487 at Schloss Ansbach, married 1 December 1518, Wenzel II von Teschen;
  7. Barbara, born 31 July 1488, died young 2 May 1490 and was buried at Heilsbronn;
  8. Albrecht, born 17 May 1490, succeeded as Duke in Prussia;
  9. Friedrich, born 13 June 1491 at Schloss Ansbach, baptised there 16 June 1491, died young possibly in 1497;
  10. Johann or Johannes, born 9 January 1493 in Schloss Plassenburg, Vice-roy of Valencia;
  11. Elisabeth, born 25 March 1494 in Ansbach, baptised 31 March 1494 in Schlosskapelle, married 7 October 1510, Ernst, Markgraf von Baden;
  12. Barbara, born 24 September 1495 in Ansbach, baptised in Schlosskapelle 25 September 1495, married 26 July 1528, Georg III, Landgraf von Leuchtenberg;
  13. Friedrich, born 17 January 1497 in Schloss Ansbach, baptised 23 January 1497 in Pfarrkirche, entered the Church;
  14. Wilhelm, born 30 June 1498 at Ansbach, baptised 2 July 1498 at Schlosskapelle, entered the church;
  15. Johann Albrecht, born 20 September 1499 at Schloss Ansbach, entered the church;
  16. Friedrich Albrecht, born 30 November 1501 at Plassenburg, baptised in Kapell, and died young 24 July 1504 and was buried in the Kloster zu Kulmbach before the Church Altar;
  17. Gumprecht, born 16 July 1503 in Schloss Ansbach, entered the Church.

Could some one make a profile for his daughter Elizabeth 1494 mentioned in the sources. I believe she connects to Fulwater-2 in my line and I can't complete. Won't allow me to create hers. Thank you. There is another Heinrich Vollwasser 1519 that should be her son.

Buren-20 and Von Brandenburg-Ansbach-1 appear to represent the same person because: These two are the same But not sure what the LNAB should be. Hohenzollern ?
