Male assortita: sul lato Kinks mancano tutte le perle finite in The Album That Never Was, e dalla parte solo la scelta è imbarazzante (e il materiale buono, da AFL e Chosen People ci sarebbe stato eccome).

A pretty good overview of Dave's career with the Kinks and his solo stuff. A two CD set, it concentrates on both Kinks and solo stuff.
The biggest drawback to it is some of his best numbers were re-recorded in 1998 due to his songs being in a legal battle. So "This Man He Weeps Tonight", "Suzannah's Still Alive", "Death Of A Clown", "Love Gets You" and "Hold My Hand" were new versions of the songs. They aren't bad but they aren't the originals I was expecting either. They're all played in an "unplugged" style. "Strangers", "Gallon Of Gas/You're Looking Fine" and "licoln County" all all live from a 1997 concert. Again, pretty good versions but not the originals I was expecting. It's a shame they couldn't have printed the fact that those songs were not the originals on the outside of the CD.
Still, a good representation of Dave's music, just missing some essential Kinks tracks and originals because of the legal fight.
