Fin restaurant once had excellent food. It's unclear if the proprietors have changed, but the quality of the food and service has declined. The seafood was overdone the last two times we visited Fin in Summit, and none of the meals we ordered had any flavour. Was like dining without class in a fast food restaurant. Really disappointing.

This was my first time eating at this restaurant and I was dissapointed. I ordered the broiled cod with fries...which was $28. When it came I was so dissapointed. There was this little piece of fish...maybe 4 ounces and some fries in a little metal container. The bottom of the container was stuffed with paper to make it look like there were more fries. So sad tgat they charge so much for so little food. The food was average tasting...nothing great or that I would repeat. The service was average.

Had a fantastic takeout meal on Saturday night for Father's Day! We came from out of town for an outdoor socially-distant visit with my parents - and wanted to have a nice Father's Day meal for my dad. I found Fin Raw Bar and Kitchen after searching online - and I'm so glad that I did! Called ahead for a pickup time, paid over the phone (and was thanked quite profusely for adding a tip), called when we got there, and our order was delivered to our car curbside. The 4 of us had: a Caesar Salad and a BLT Wedge Salad, each split 2 ways (and they were huge), Pacific Cod, Fish N Chips, Macadamia Orange Roughy, an Italian Wrap, and Lava cake for dessert. Everything tasted fresh and absolutely delicious, portions were generous, and it all stayed hot in the takeout containers. I had called earlier in the week to ask questions and then again to place my order, and the person I spoke with was so nice and helpful. I would highly recommend eating here. And I know my parents plan to eat here in the future now that we've discovered it!

The food is always amazing. Excellent fresh seafood. It is a little noisy on Saturday night but Sunday night is a pleasure. Byo which is also very nice. Highly recommend.

Was very excited about trying this highly rated byob restaurant in Summit, but alas another dud. $120 later both meals were mediocre at best. The orange roughy was mostly rice and very dry, the “lobster” really Langostino ( not a real lobster) and shrimp ugh blah... and then the fruit flies being swatted by everyone around us... couldn’t wait to get out of there and won’t go back... gross!

...Fin nailed it. We went on a Sunday night and the place was pretty quiet, which is preferred. Here’s what we had: Lobster and Shrimp Spring Rolls - Very well done. If you were ever a fan of these at The Chart House before they took these off the menu, you’re in luck. Shrimp Bao Buns - Sweet and well constructed. Everything meshes well with this dish. Lobster Mac and Cheese - Mind blowing. A lot of restaurants mess up this dish with too little lobster, not mixing all the ingredients, or not using the right kind of cheese. None of these are the case here. Fin’s LM&C was the best part of the meal and we’ll go back just for it. Halibut Special - Good. Well seasoned and very filling. Lobster and Shrimp Entree - Needed just a touch of salt, but otherwise the portion was very generous, the Thai curry sauce was savory and not overpowering against the seafood, and the seafood was cooked to perfection (buttery, not chewy).

This was one of our favorite go-to's for a nice night out. Most recent visit was quite disappointing. Scallop special posted outside - already out or otherwise not available when we went to order. Oysters tasted like they going on 10 days old. Stopped after first one. Main courses were not served together. Long delay between 2 and next 2. It looked to me like they had been sitting under a heat lamp for some time - the side of escarole and beans had that top layer look like it had coagulated under the heat. All in all, very disappointing. Not sure what was up - usually a very good spot. Either were way off their game or maybe change of ownership or something has changed for the worse?

We went to Fin in Summit for the first time today. It is under different ownership than the one in Montclair. The one in Montclair has been going downhill over the last year or so. The owners have been focusing on the Crosby next door, and the quality of the food has suffered. A few people have recommended the one in Summit, and I'm glad they did. The 2 restaurants have similar menus, but the execution and service is much better at Summit (like it used to be at Montclair). The owner Brian greeted us and was very nice. I can see that he has a lot of pride in his restaurant. Our server Ron was funny and entertaining. We shared a couple of appetizers of swordfish tacos with guajillo marinade, pineapple pico de gallo, radish, and avocado cream, and Asian shrimp bao buns with sweet Asian chili sauce, pickled onions, and chili peppers. For entrees I had the bronzed Atlantic swordfish, with avocado, cucumber, tomato, onion, lump crabmeat, with a cilantro lime vinaigrette. My wife had the 7 spiced big eye tuna, soba noodles, stir fried vegetables, in a soy and scallion vinaigrette. For dessert we had an excellent chocolate retro cake - mini bundt cake with warm valrhona chocolate center, vanilla ice cream, and raspberries.

While I’ve had enjoyable experiences in years past, the food has slipped and the waitstaff is unbearably rude and abrasive. Add flies around your table and it’s a thumbs down all around. The food was a mixed bag (even assuming no flies in food), sauces all missed the mark and argumentative waitresses mean even the food is not enough especially at these prices ($35 per main). Never again.

Fabulous seafood restaurant with a wonderful selection of fresh dishes. The owner, Brian, is attentive and friendly. Our server, Doug, was efficient and our dishes arrived hot and timely. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The atmosphere is upbeat and lively. We will surely return!

The food is delicious and the service is warm. The Summit restaurant is much quieter than the Montclair version.

The menu was interesting with many intriguing seafood choices. Service was prompt but we weren’t rushed. It was pleasant and friendly. The food was delicious and perfectly cooked. Definitely worth a return visit.

Always looking for a good seafood restaurant in central Jersey, this fits the bill. A nice variety of dishes, attentive service, and while they do serve adult beverages, are ready and willing when you bring your own. Street parking is tough but there is a municipal lot in the back and on Saturday @ 6PM there was no fee. Service was also on point.

We had a great dinner last night. We were a party of 4 and shared the calamari salad and the wedge salad. Both were excellent. I had a shrimp cocktail which was the best I have had in years. We had the cod, orange roughy and swordfish. All were fresh and excellent with a sharing side of the avocado crab salad. It took too long to get greeted by our server and have our order taken. Otherwise was a great first experience and will be back again!

I was amazed and intrigued by the reviews. reality is that it is an average GOOD restaurant. I can't name the WOW dish, but our dinner was nice and food is good.
