What travellers are saying
- Andrew T1 contributionThis was an amazing experience. It is organized very nicely. My son just loved the pedal cars and toys. There is something for everyone young and old. I can't wait to stop by again. Check out the Tucker!Written 11 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Elizabeth HWest Des Moines, IA6 contributionsWe (myself and my grandparents) visited the garden at the end of September. It was a really great stop on our road trip especially since it was free! We wandered the gardens for 30-45 minutes. There’s so much to look at! We also really enjoyed the two koi ponds.
If you have some time or need a quick stop on your road trip this is a great place to stretch your legs. Although this might not be the best stop if you’re bringing small kids as there are some nude statues in the garden.Written 22 December 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. All that with a great look at what I would call pre-deco architecture featuring stonework, mosaics, and wall paintings.
The information was all presented by a very knowledgeable tour guide who is an employee of the state as opposed to a volunteer (a trained historian is right for this position though I respect those who choose to be unpaid tour guides).
After an hour with the guide your are free to go back and do a deeper dive into the things you like and to go to the top floor of the tower for an outside viewing opportunity of the city (look at the impact of the railroads that included the Burlington, Northern Pacific, Rock Island and Union Pacific Railroads) as well as to pay respedts to the fallen in the hall of rememberance.
I found it easiest to park on the street as meters are available and use change or cell phone app. Most of the meters allow parking for more than 2 hours.
Enter on K Street, up the main stone stairs at the center of the building. The tour office is right through the main doors.Written 8 November 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - verifieduser48 contributionsWe went to the Zoo lights. It was magnificent! One of the best light displays I have ever seen. It was also wheel chair and stroller friendly. They have a superb sounds system with them lights changing to all colors.Written 26 November 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - lylah T1 contributionPioneer park is one of my favorite places in mooresville, it has creeks, pathways, a pool, lots of native animals, many playgrounds, many baseball fields, and soccer fields. I have gone here my whole life and it never tends to get old, pioneer park is a great experience for learning actives, exercise, training, and having fun! Even when it is cold and snowy, you can still sled down the big hill and look how the ice has froze over the creek. There are many things to do at this family friendly park and many things to see!Written 4 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Not ready for alcohol but it seems to happen at the stadium anyway.Written 9 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - David R55 contributionsIt’s a great place that is fairly cost friendly. Lots of stations for kids to go to that keep it fun for a longer time. There’s not a ton of staff, so things can get kinda messy. I also don’t really understand to charge parents to get in when it’s a child’s exhibit. If it were a zoo, where parents can see and partake in exhibits it’s one thing. There’s nothing for parents here besides supervising a child. So about 30 dollars for a couple to get in seems a bit ridiculous. Overall, it’s a great place for smaller kids to run around and burn energyWritten 10 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - weeonesmomLincoln, NE41 contributionsOur students were delighted to see especially the quilts and quilted items from around the world, including from their home countries. The seamstresses in the group were particularly fascinated, but even the non-sewers like myself appreciated the beauty and work represented.Written 29 December 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - N0rmaleeBossier City, LA617 contributionsWhile traveling we always visit local art galleries whenever possible, this wasn’t a large one but we enjoyed it. Hadn’t planned to go to this one but found it listed as a local attraction and decided to give it a shot.Written 5 October 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Joel GPort Ewen, NY241 contributionsThis was smaller than we expected, basically 1 large room overfilled with various displays. I believe we spent about 1/2 hour here as we were looking for something to do vs having a huge interest in roller skating. Was mostly intrigued that this museum even existed. Did enjoy the small display about roller derby, which I loved growing up. There is probably something here for everyone.Written 22 September 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
