Autechre are an English electronic music duo consisting of Sean Booth and Rob Brown, formed in 1987.
This is not in any way a hate post on Aphex twin. He used to be arguably my favorite artist. Still, many times I found myself skipping some of his songs because they just aren’t good to me. It feels like he is shooting for something, but idk it just doesn’t land for me. Maybe I don’t get it idk.
I have since gotten more into Autechre. I honestly move through their discography very slowly, listened to incunabula/amber for a few years. Listened to tri repetae for a year and realized how amazing autechre are, made the previous albums unlistenable.
Listened to a bit of EP7, didn’t like it as much as tri repetae, that was all I listened to last year besides classical music, was tri repetae. Even bought a shirt of it
Now I have moved to confield. It is probably the greatest album I have ever heard. In my opinion confield sort of seems like the type of music Aphex twin was shooting for but could not achieve.
I am very glad that my next year will be occupied by this album
