Goldman Sachs Minimum Investment: Highlights
• For wrap programs and financial planning, Goldman Sachs has a $100,000 minimum.
• Specific investment programs at Goldman Sachs have their own minimums.
• Goldman’s Private Wealth Management program requires $10 million in investable assets to join.
Overview of Account Minimums at Goldman Sachs
Goldman Sachs has a variety of minimum investment amounts, depending on the exact program selected.
Minimum Investment Amount for General Investing in Wrap Programs
A basic Wrap Fee account at the American branch of Goldman Sachs will require $100,000 to get into. This minimum investment amount can be spread across multiple accounts, but a household will have to have at least $100,000 available for investing just to get into the door at the swanky outfit.
And some investment themes can actually have higher minimums than the $100,000 number quoted here. For example, a municipal fixed-income strategy has a $250,000 minimum. And a dynamic equity strategy requires $500,000 or $2.5 million, depending on the advisor.
Goldman Sachs Asset Management Minimum
The asset-management division of Goldman Sachs has no minimum to open or maintain an account, although the firm can impose minimum fee amounts on a quarterly or annual basis.
Retail Managed Account Services Enrolled Participant Accounts
An account opened under the Retail Managed Account Services program has a $5,000 account minimum, although this minimum can be waived.

Minimum Investment Amount for Wealth Management
Goldman Sachs’ most experienced financial planners are in its Personal Wealth Management division. As such, the highest level of service will be found here. To get through the door here, clients must have a hundred times as many assets as regular customers. The minimum is $10 million.
Minimums at Marcus Goldman Sachs
Although the investment minimums at Goldman Sachs are not for the faint of heart, thankfully the banking division of the company requires little to nothing. The high-yield savings account at Marcus (currently paying 4.40% APY) has no minimum at all. Equally-lucrative CD accounts typically require just $500 to open.
Minimums for Separately Managed Accounts and Private Investment Funds
For private investment funds and SMAs (separately managed accounts), Goldman Sachs requires at least $500,000, and some investment themes within the two programs can have minimums as high as $25 million.
Goldman Sachs Minimums to Gain Discounts
It goes without saying that Goldman Sachs, at least the investing division of the company, caters to very wealthy folks. Advisory clients, both retail and institutional, will get the lowest possible management fees with higher balances.
In most cases, Goldman’s advisory fee begins dropping above $10 million in assets. The lowest rate will be obtained with assets above $500 million. Here’s an example from one program:
