Coleen Garcia-Crawford is now adopting a more relaxed approach to motherhood.
Her son with husband Billy Crawford, Amari, who turned three on September 10, 2023, is now a toddler, and Coleen is taking it all in stride.
"Motherhood is easier now," she shares with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) last September 5, 2023, at the #LBCityscape event with Love, Bonito.
Together with Kryz Uy, Coleen introduced #LBXColeen: a collection of clothes in collaboration with Love, Bonito at The Mess Hall, Karrivin Plaza, Makati.
Coleen observes significant advancements in her son's communication abilities now that he's three years old.
And she proudly affirms that her son is not one given to tantrums.
"[Amari] communicates so well. I am so proud of the way we raised him. I am so proud of the way we communicate with each other.
"He doesn’t really throw tantrums. He just cries. Parang artista umiyak. He’s so cute!"
FINDING THEIR RHYTHM
Like many other couples, Coleen reveals she and her husband also encounter challenges when it comes to parenting.
For one, Coleen discloses that Billy's availability with their son is constrained due to his demanding work commitments.
But as parents, Coleen and Billy have already found their own rhythm.
Despite Billy's busy schedule, Coleen stresses he is genuinely engaged and hands-on whenever he has the opportunity to spend time with their child.
She says, “Billy works a lot more than me. He just got home from France, where he was for two whole months. Bawing-bawi naman siya when he’s here.
"For me and Billy, since we both work, we try to have balance of working and taking care of the baby. He works so much, but when he’s at home, he’s one hundred percent there.
"When Amari’s there, he can give everything that he can give.”

RAISING AMARI
Coleen emphasizes the one thing she and Billy are focused on in raising Amari, which is to make sure their son grows up without feeling entitled or being overly indulged.
In short, to be humble.
She tells PEP.ph, "In our household, we don’t celebrate with big parties. Billy and I, when we celebrate our birthdays, it’s never with big parties.
"It’s always with the family and our closest friends, people who we want to see.
"We asked Amari who he wanted to see on his birthday and then we ordered our favorite meals and we try to make each other feel special.
"That’s our tradition for birthdays in our household.
"Right now that Amari is so young, I want to shape his mindset into feeling that birthdays aren’t automatically about big parties and getting everything you want.
"I want to start it like that: It’s the best day ever, but because we are all together and you have our undivided attention today."
On Instagram, Coleen shares an album of photos from Amari’s third birthday.
She says in the caption, “Even when things get hard and overwhelming, you will always be our reason to keep showing up as the best versions of ourselves. You inspire us to be better every day. I’m so proud, happy, and honored to be your Mommy. I love you so so much!”
She also shares a video where Amari has listed down the food he enjoyed on this birthday.
