King Charles was "too busy" to see Prince Harry during the Duke of Sussex's recent trip to England, and there's been a lot (like, a...LOT) of speculation as to why. While some insiders claim His Majesty's snub is a result of what Harry wrote about Queen Camilla in his book Spare, one of her friends is out here saying it actually all comes down to Prince William.

A "former palace official" who once worked for both Harry and William told The Telegraph's Petronella Wyatt that, "There is a public misconception about William and Harry." The insider went on to claim that "It is William who was often the difficult one, and it is William who is preventing his father from having a proper reconciliation with Harry. This isn’t helpful at a point in time when the country would be buoyed up by seeing them together again, as would the King."

This hot royal tea comes as another former royal staffer (clearly, NDAs are...not a thing in this household) tells the Daily Beast that Charles's decision to decline Harry's Invictus Games event has everything to do with optics. As they put it, "Charles is never going to endorse a hostile, rival royal operation on his doorstep. Instead, Charles sent a clear message that he is not welcome to conduct official, quasi-royal events in the U.K. that distract from the monarchy’s message and agenda."

Welp. It definitely sounds like a lot of factors are at play here!
