Fire & Blood character Sara Snow cut from House of the Dragon season 2

House of the Dragon has done a solid job of adapting George R.R. Martin's book Fire & Blood, but not every character from the book has made the cut.

House of the Dragon is based on the book Fire & Blood by George R.R. Martin. Actually, it's based on the back half of Fire & Blood, which recounts the events of the Dance of the Dragons, a Targaryen civil war that tore the Seven Kingdoms apart over 100 years before the events of Game of Thrones. The first season of House of the Dragon was fairly accurate to the book, but it couldn't include everything. Some plotlines and characters were dropped. That will continue in season 2, premieres on HBO and Max on Sunday, June 16.

For instance, at the end of House of the Dragon season 1, Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D'Arcy) dispatched her eldest son Jace (Harry Collett) north to Winterfell, hoping that he could treat with lord the young lord Cregan Stark. We'll meet Cregan Stark in season 2, where he'll be played by Tom Taylor. But the show will leave other plots by the wayside.

In the book, it's whispered that Jace falls in love with a Stark bastard named Sara Snow while at Winterfell, despite the fact that Jace is already betrothed to his cousin/step-sister Baela Targaryen (Bethany Antonia). Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, producer Sara Hess made it sound like this plotline had been cut. "Expect very little [of Sara Snow]," Hess said. "Our POV is the Targaryens, and our POV is split between King's Landing, Dragonstone, and then when Daemon goes to Harrenhal. We just don't have the eyes to really be everywhere at the same time."

Sara Snow doesn't have a big impact on the story going forward, so I'm not surprised that they might cut her from the show.
