It's that no matter how many times Roxi's heart is broken, Muu will always find a new lover for her that will also get the immortal kiss, betray Roxi like you did, rinse and repeat. It's that you truly are as insignificant as Nyan told you you were, and that you're easily replaced because humans are just abundant prey. All those people that replaced you before being replaced themselves, are just like all your rot-blooms. Your life was always just a blip to the gods, even if you don't die. It's a very morbid ending that you really were just a plot device for Muu, to replace the last one, and nothing more. You notice as you follow the bells, you get the question "Why are you following him?", it tells you that Buck actually betrayed Roxi by burning her roots and ending their relationship, not by just stealing a kiss and going rogue like Nanni thought.
I'm willing to bet that's why Auntie Nyan Nyan is the way she is. She believed in humans once and may have even fallen in love. But then they betrayed her over and over, and she just got fed up with it.

Both endings are canon. One is if you remain as Roxi's lover, one if you betray her and get replaced by a new potential lover by Muu.
yeah i don't think that is how it will work in this occasion, is not like the first game where all the endings where canon, in this case, only the one's where you saved everyone and made everything better are canon.
I think all endings are to be acknowledged as fiction even within the text itself, since they are dreams of the elder gods. The good ending is "written" by Rhokzan and the truth ending by Nyan. So it's not an absolute truth but the "truth", or really thesis, written by Nyan. How you get either end reflects this as well, the good ending happens if Stardust follows her love which would be Rhokzan's domain, while the truth ending happens if Stardust follows her curiosity, entering Nyan's domain.
