Bravo has started filming season 18 of The Real Housewives of Orange County again. This happened after it was revealed that Jennifer Pedranti’s fiancé, Ryan Boyajian, may be linked to the Shohei Ohtani MLB gambling controversy. Sources involved in the production shared this news with us on Monday, May 13. The cameras are now rolling to capture the latest developments.

Fans started to think Bravo was filming the drama when Tamra Judge posted a video of herself with Heather Dubrow, Emily Simpson, and Alexis Bellino filming a scene during Mother's Day weekend.

In the video, Judge, 56, mentioned, "It's never really over..." on Saturday, May 11, with a camera crew seen in the background.

Last month, filming for season 18 of Real Housewives of Orange County came to an end with a finale party featuring special guest Jo De La Rosa. Judge shared the news on Instagram on April 19, saying, "And that's a wrap on Season 18! #RHOC. Jo's back in the mix."

Despite this, Dubrow suggested that the upcoming season may not be completely finished yet as she made an appearance at the 2024 Race to Erase MS Gala on Friday, May 10.

"I thought the season was finished, but it turns out it's not," shared the 55-year-old Sequestered actress exclusively with We. When asked to give a hint about season 18, she simply said, "That's all I can say about that."

Earlier this month, it was reported that Boyajian, aged 46, was involved in a gambling and theft scheme with the former interpreter of Ohtani. According to ESPN, on May 8, the Los Angeles Dodgers’ interpreter Ippei Mizuhara sent money to Boyajian to settle his gambling debts. On the same day, the U.S. Attorney’s office announced that Mizuhara, aged 39, had agreed to plead guilty to two federal charges linked to the theft of almost $17 million from Ohtani’s bank account.

Boyajian’s criminal attorney, Steven Katzman, informed ESPN that the reality star is cooperating with federal authorities. Sources also mentioned that Boyajian is expected to receive immunity in exchange for providing testimony.

"Ryan is currently cooperating with the authorities in an ongoing investigation, so he is unable to provide any details at this time," Katzman explained. "It's important to note that he is not involved in any bookmaking activities or acting as a sub-bookie."

This season of RHOC will focus on Jennifer Pedranti and Ryan Boyajian's love story, putting aside any legal drama. The couple, aged 46, recently got engaged during their vacation in the Bahamas.

Pedranti expressed her joy to People after accepting Boyajian's proposal, saying, "We're both super excited and couldn't be happier. Our love is a gift, and this feels like the icing on the cake. It's a magical time for us, and I truly feel like the luckiest girl in the world."

During their time on season 17 of the show, Pedranti and Boyajian faced criticism from some of their costars, including Simpson. Simpson had previously mentioned to We that there were concerns in the relationship. Rumors of infidelity and inappropriate photos being shared on Snapchat were also circulating, but both Pedranti and Boyajian denied these claims.

Real Housewives of Orange County is currently streaming on Peacock. A premiere date for season 18 has yet to be announced.
