The K-Pop Index: Seo Taiji & Boys Edition (Updated: May 1, 2024)

Hello everyone! Lamorosii here, back with a massively revamped edition of Seo Taiji & Boys! Some of you might be confused, as a lot of you probably know me better as The K-Pop Explorer. Well, I've shed that name and retired that Sub-Reddit. I've opted to start anew with a brand new Reddit called The K-Pop Index. Might sound a bit more boring, but honestly, it fits the theme and idea I always had in mind. A place where fans, both old and new, can deep-dive through the discographies of their favorite groups/artists. Or, if you're feeling curious, perhaps finding something new.

It's been an interesting time to be a fan of this group. Ever since the beginning of the year, Seo Taiji Company has been dropping stuff. Not NEW stuff, persay, but updated stuff. It started with a Remaster of Regret of the Times that came accompanied by a new animated music video. After that, they've been sporatically dropping better quality versions of older music videos and live performances. I have no idea why they are doing it, especially after such a long quiet. Does it mean anything? Probably not, but I can't help but wonder if Seo Taiji, himself, might end up doing something soon. It's been 7 years since he left the limelight after the Time Traveler Concert.

• This album seems to be lost media. I didn't even know it existed until recently. And there seems to be good reason, I can't find out much about it. It appears to have no original songs, just a selection of their previous released tracks. There doesn't seem to be any sort of media online, as far as I can tell. Even so, throwing it into the post, because it's still part of their discography, whether or not I can find any sources. lol

3rd Korean Live Album: '95 Taijiboys Concert 다른 하늘이 열리고 - YouTube Playlist

Release Date: March 27, 1995

• This live album was pretty rough to dig for. Kinda surprised at how sporatic and poor the live videos were compared to their previous live release.

4th Korean Studio Album: 컴백홈 - YouTube Playlist

Release Date: October 5, 1995

• Track #5, 시대유감, is an instrumental on this album. It originally had lyrics, but the government was censoring it and demanding Seo Taiji change the lyrics. He refused, so instead of changing them, he removed them altogether. The song was re-released after the disbandment of the group once censorship laws changed as a singles album with the lyrics intact. You can find the restored song below.

• Track #8, Goodbye, is also an instrumental. After the disbandment of the group, a greatest hits compilation was made. This song is included, but had lyrics added. You can find the revised song below.

• I did not provide links to most of these tracks as they are all previously released songs. The only notable release here is Goodbye, which has lyrics added to it as mentioned previously.

• All songs on this singles album are previously released tracks. The biggest difference is the restored lyrics to track #2, which were originally removed as mentioned previously.
