Melrose Place, created by Sex and the City mastermind Darren Star, premiered on July 8, 1992, and ran for seven seasons—over the course of which the residents of the Melrose Place apartment complex dealt with just about every variety of personal drama imaginable. Now, decades since its pilot aired, check in with the main cast, ahead.

Heather Locklear (Amanda Woodward)

Heather Locklear was the undisputed face of Melrose Place. She appeared in every season (recurring in the first) and was nominated for four consecutive Golden Globes for her performance as Amanda Woodward.

Since the series ended, Locklear's credits have included main roles on Spin City from 1999 to 2002, on the short-lived LAX from 2004 to 2005, and in the third season of Franklin & Bash in 2013. She has had recurring roles on the 2009 Melrose Place sequel series, where she reprised her role as Amanda, as well as on Hot in Cleveland from 2012 to 2013 and Too Close to Home from 2016 to 2017.

Her films include parts in 2003's Uptown Girls, 2005's The Perfect Man, and 2013's Scary Movie 5. In 2021, she starred in the Lifetime original movie Don't Sweat the Small Stuff: The Kristine Carlson Story.

Thomas Calabro (Michael Mancini)

Thomas Calabro has the distinction of being the only actor to have been in the main cast of Melrose Place for the duration of its run. He starred as Dr. Michael Mancini, a devoted husband at the beginning of the series who became an infamous womanizer by the end.

Over the years, Calabro has racked up dozens of credits, including roles on Castle, NCIS, and Glee and in the films Locker 13 (2014), The Barber (2014), and The Man in 3B (2015). He reprised his role as Dr. Mancini in the 2009 Melrose Place sequel series and had a recurring role on the web series The Bay from 2015 to 2019.

Josie Bissett (Jane Mancini)

Josie Bissett played Jane Mancini throughout the series, though she was absent from season 6.

She went on to have a recurring role on The Secret Life of the American Teenager from 2008 to 2013 and appeared in the TV movies A Mother's Instinct, Pregnant at 17, and The Wedding March (and its many sequels). She reprised her role as Jane in the 2009 Melrose Place sequel series.

Bissett is married to Melrose Place costar Rob Estes.

Andrew Shue (Billy Campbell)

Andrew Shue starred as Billy Campbell on Melrose Place until halfway through the seventh season.

During his time on the show, he also played professional soccer. His acting credits since the '90s have been few and far between, though he produced and had a role in the 2007 film Gracie, which was partially based on his sister Elisabeth Shue's childhood.

A social media entrepreneur, Shue cofounded CafeMom with his friend Michael Sanchez in 2006. The site was then acquired by Wild Sky Media in 2018.

Courtney Thorne-Smith (Allison Parker)

Since she finished her run as Allison Parker in the first five seasons of Melrose Place, Courtney Thorne-Smith has been busy, primarily on TV.

Her small-screen credits include playing Georgia Thomas on Ally McBeal from 1997 to 2002, starring on According to Jim from 2001 to 2009, recurring on Two and a Half Men from 2010 to 2015, and appearing on Fresh Off the Boat and Mom.

Grant Show played bad boy Jake Hanson in the first five seasons of Melrose Place.

Since then, his packed résumé includes appearances on Burn Notice, CSI, and Criminal Minds, recurring roles on Big Love, Private Practice, Satisfaction, and The Family, and regular roles on Accidentally on Purpose, Devious Maids, and the CW's Dynasty reboot.

Doug Savant (Matt Fielding)

After playing Matt Fielding on Melrose Place for six seasons, Doug Savant picked up another high-profile regular role when he played Tom Scavo on Desperate Housewives from 2004 to 2012.

Since then, his credits include episodes of Notorious, Halt and Catch Fire, The X-Files, Scorpion, Hawaii Five-0, 9-1-1, Dirty John, and The Rookie.

Savant married his Melrose Place costar Laura Leighton in 1998.

Vanessa A. Williams (Rhonda Blair)

Vanessa A. Willliams was only in the main cast of Melrose Place for its first season, playing Rhonda Blair.

She has been busy since then, however, playing Ida Turner on Famous in Love, Francine West on The Flash, and appearing in episodes of Major Crimes, Lincoln Heights, Everybody Hates Chris, 9-1-1, and The L Word: Generation Q. She joined the main cast of Days of Our Lives in 2016, playing Valerie Grant.

Amy Locane was a member of the main cast for the first season of Melrose Place, appearing across 13 episodes.

After leaving the show, Locane starred in a 1999 episode of Touched by an Angel, in the TV movies Mystery Woman (2003) and Alien Express (2005), and in the 2002 film Secretary.

In 2010, Locane was involved in a fatal drunk-driving accident that left one woman dead. The actress was sentenced to three years in prison in 2013 but wound up serving only two-and-a-half years of the term. In a 2017 interview, Locane said, "I want to help people not make the same mistake I made. I want to warn the youth about the dangers of drinking and driving. Everybody thinks it's not going to happen to them, including myself."

Daphne Zuniga (Jo Reynolds)

Daphne Zuniga played Jo Reynolds on Melrose Place from halfway into the first season through the end of the fourth.

Since then, she starred on the drama Beautiful People from 2005 to 2006 and had recurring roles on American Dreams from 2004 to 2005, One Tree Hill from 2008 to 2012, and Dynasty in 2022.

Having originated the role of Princess Vespa in 1987's Spaceballs, she provided the voice of the character in Spaceballs: The Animated Series from 2007 to 2009. Zuniga also reprised her role as Jo on the 2009 Melrose Place sequel series.

Laura Leighton (Sydney Andrews)

Laura Leighton appeared in the first five seasons of Melrose Place as Sydney Andrews: She was a guest for season 1 and recurring for season 2 before finally scoring one of the main roles. During her time on the prime-time soap, Leighton hosted an episode of Saturday Night Live in 1995.

Since then, she has appeared in episodes of Beverly Hills, 90210, CSI: Miami, Law & Order: SVU, Dynasty, and Fantasy Island. Her most significant post-Melrose role, however, was playing Hanna's mother Ashley Marin on Pretty Little Liars for the duration of the series. Leighton also reprised her role as Sydney on the 2009 Melrose Place sequel show.

Marcia Cross (Kimberly Shaw)

Marcia Cross appeared in the first five seasons of Melrose Place as Kimberly Shaw, who began as a recurring character but soon became a part of the main cast.

Post-Place, Cross is best known for starring on Desperate Housewives from 2004 to 2012 as Bree Van de Kamp, a role for which she received three Golden Globe nominations and one Emmy nomination. She also appeared in the second season of Everwood from 2003 to 2004, and featured in a recurring role on Quantico from 2015 to 2017 as President Claire Haas. Cross has made additional guest appearances on Law & Order: SVU, Soundtrack, and You.

In 2018, Cross revealed she was in remission for anal cancer, hoping to destigmatize the disease.

Jack Wagner (Dr. Peter Burns)

In addition to playing Dr. Peter Burns on Melrose Place, Jack Wagner is well known for his roles on two other popular soaps: He played Frisco Jones on General Hospital from 1983 to 1995—resuming the role again in 2013—and Nick Marone on The Bold and the Beautiful from 2003 to 2012.

In 2012, he competed on Dancing With the Stars, and placed 11th. He has guested on shows such as Castle, Hot in Cleveland, and Ray Donovan, and started playing Bill Avery on When Calls the Heart in 2014. He additionally appeared in the 2022 Netflix film Falling for Christmas.

Also a singer and stage actor, Wagner has released multiple albums.

Kristin Davis (Brooke Armstrong)

Kristin Davis played Brooke Armstrong on Melrose Place for the third and fourth seasons.

But, she is best known for starring in another series created by Darren Star, playing Charlotte York on Sex and the City from 1998 to 2004—a role she reprised in the show's 2008 and 2010 movie sequels and the revival series, And Just Like That. She was nominated for one Golden Globe and one Emmy for her performance as Charlotte.

In addition to Sex and the City, Davis' roles include the films Couples Retreat (2009) and Journey 2: The Mysterious Island (2012), the 2014 TV series Bad Teacher, and the TV movies Of Two Minds (2012) and A Heavenly Christmas (2016).

Patrick Muldoon (Richard Hart)

Patrick Muldoon recurred on Melrose Place from season 3 through 5, playing Richard Hart.

He is known for his work as Zander in Starship Troopers (1997) and Austin Reed on Days of Our Lives, a role he played from 1992 to 1995 and then reprised from 2011 to 2012. In later years, his credits include the TV movies My Best Friend (2016), His Secret Past (2016), and Boyfriend Killer (2017), and the 2016 horror film Little Dead Rotting Hood.

Muldoon is also a producer for such films as Arkansas (2020), The Card Counter (2021), and Marlowe (2022).

Rob Estes played Kyle McBride from season 5 through 7 of Melrose Place.

Since then, Estes had main roles on Women's Murder Club from 2007 to 2008 and the Beverly Hills, 90210 spin-off 90210, on which he played Harry Wilson from 2008 to 2010.

Other credits include appearances on Psych, Necessary Roughness, Castle, CSI: Cyber, Daytime Divas, The Night Shift, and Famous in Love.

Lisa Rinna joined the main cast of Melrose Place in season 5, leaving the series partway into season 7.

She is also well known for another soap (this one of the daytime variety), Days of Our Lives, on which she played Billie Reed starting in 1992, appearing in over 600 episodes.

Her other acting appearances include episodes of Veronica Mars, Entourage, Community, Big Time Rush, Awkward, and The Middle, but she is best known, now, for playing herself: In 2006, Rinna competed in the second season of Dancing With the Stars, placing fourth, and, in 2011, she competed in the fourth season of The Celebrity Apprentice, placing 15th. She joined the main cast of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills in 2014.

Brooke Langton (Samantha Reilly)

Brooke Langton began her time playing Samantha Reilly on Melrose Place as a guest star in season 4, but was a series regular for seasons 5, 6, and 7, appearing only in the first part of the final season.

Soon after leaving Melrose Place, she starred in the short-lived drama The Net from 1998 to 1999, had a recurring role on Friday Night Lights from 2007 to 2008 and The Last Ship in 2018, and appeared in episodes of shows including The Mentalist, Bones, and Supernatural. Her major film credits include 2000's The Replacements and 2015's The Debt.

David Charvet

David Charvet played Craig Field on Melrose Place in the series' fifth and sixth seasons. He was also well known in the '90s for playing Matt Brody on Baywatch from 1992 to 1996.

Outside of a handful of credits, including the 2013 film Prisoners of the Sun, Charvet has focused on music over acting. He has released three albums, including 2004's Se laisser quelque chose, much of which was in his native French. He is also a partner at the Jones Builders Group, a residential contractor in Los Angeles.

Charvet was married to TV personality Brooke Burke from 2011 to 2020, sharing two children together.

Kelly Rutherford

Kelly Rutherford, who played Megan Lewis, was part of the main cast of Melrose Place from season 5 through the end of the series.

She is perhaps better known, however, for playing Lily van der Woodsen (mother to Serena, a.k.a. Blake Lively) on Gossip Girl from 2007 to 2012. Other TV credits include appearances on Bones, Being Mary Jane, Quantico, Jane the Virgin, and Dynasty, among other series.

Alyssa Milano

Alyssa Milano played Jennifer Mancini on Melrose Place from season 5 through the first half of season 7.

Soon after, she began working on Charmed, starring as Phoebe Haliwell for the duration of the series' run from 1998 to 2006. She would go on to have a recurring role on the third season of My Name Is Earl from 2007 to 2008, and starred as Savi Davis in the first two seasons of Mistresses from 2013 to 2014.

In addition to her work as an activist, she has appeared in the miniseries Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later and on the Netflix series Insatiable.

Milano has two children with husband David Bugliari.

Linden Ashby was a regular on Melrose Place, playing Dr. Brett Cooper in season 6 and the first part of season 7.

Since then, in addition to appearing in TV movies and single episodes of a variety of series, he has had recurring roles as Cameron Kirsten on The Young and the Restless from 2003 to 2004, as Paul Hollingsworth on Days of Our Lives in 2008, as Dr. Dan Seaver on Army Wives from 2009 to 2013, as Sheriff Noah Stilinski on Teen Wolf from 2011 to 2017, and as Whit Foster on Trinkets from 2019 to 2020. He reprised his role as Noah in Teen Wolf: The Movie in 2023.

Jamie Luner (Lexi Sterling)

Jamie Luner joined the main cast of Melrose Place in its sixth season, and stayed on as Lexi Sterling until the end of the series.

Along with her role as Lexi, she is well known for playing Liza Colby in over 300 episodes of All My Children, from 2009 to the end of the series' original run in 2011, and as Cassie Siletti on Murder in the First from 2015 to 2016.

In addition to her many credits in TV movies, Luner has appeared in episodes of Supernatural, Criminal Minds, Two and a Half Men, True Blood, and Better Call Saul, among other series.

Before he played Ryan McBride in the seventh season of Melrose Place, John Haymes Newton was already well known for playing Clark Kent/Superboy on the first season of Superboy, from 1988 to 1989.

Post-Melrose, he has appeared in episodes of series including CSI: Miami, Desperate Housewives, and The Mentalist, as well as the films The Haunting of Molly Hartley (2008) and Surge of Power: Revenge of the Sequel (2016).

He has since taken a different career path as the founder of Health Beyond Belief.
