JioCinema app: How to use, features and everything related to know

Reliance Jio's JioCinema may not be as popular as the Netflix or Amazon Prime, but it is sure one of the most widely used apps from Reliance Jio's suite of apps.

Jio defines JioCinema as an on demand video library with movies, TV Shows, music videos, Jio shorts, documentaries and trailers . In plain words, JioCinema is a video streaming service offered by Jio where in you can watch movies, TV shows, Jio exclusives, documentaries and trailers. The app supports both smartphone and web platform.

Android users can download JioCinema from Google Playstore, iOS users from Appstore and Samsung Z2 device users from the Tizen Store. The app for now is free but going forward you can expect the company to charge for the services. JioCinema offers movies and TV shows from various genres, like action, comedy, romance, documentaries, history, thrillers and more.

Jio has recently also partnered with Disney India to offer popular Disney movies like Toy Story 3, The Jungle Book, The Lion King and more. However, you have to unlock the access to JioDisney section by sharing the Disney link with five of your contacts via WhatsApp, SMS, Instagram or Facebook.

JioCinema also supports Chromecast so that you watch the content on your big TV screen.

How to begin with JioCinema: Before we tell you how to start with the service, it is important to know that you can run JioCinema on phone only if it has a Jio SIM. However, this is not the case with the web version. You can run the JioCinema on web while being connected to any operator you want.

Download JioCinema app from Play Store or head to jiocinema.com if you are going to use the web version. You can login using your Jio ID or your Jio phone number. Tap on GET OTP. Use the OTP to login the service. It will ask you to select your language preferences

Space: JioCinema takes near about 15MB of space on your phone.

Genres: The genres that you will see inside the JioCinema are - action, adventure, animation, biography, comedy, crime, drama, documentary, family, fantasy, history, horror, music, mystery, mythology, reality, romance, sports, thriller and war.

Languages: You can find content from following languages in the JioCinema- Hindi, English, Marathi, Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Malayalam, Bengali, Guajarati, Punjabi, and Bhojpuri.

JioCinema features: Similar to the Amazon Prime and Netflix, JioCinema also comes with some nifty features that offer an ease of use to the subscribers. Some of the key features are

-- My Download: It displays the list of all the downloaded movies in the app.

-- Available for Download: This shows the list of only those movies that can be downloaded.

-- Watch List Feature: You can add your favourite TV shows and movies to your watch list and view them anytime you want using this feature. You can add as many movies as you want to the list.

-- Auto Play TV Series: This feature lets you automatically play the subsequent episodes of a TV show without you having to search for the next episode and then hit play.

-- Bitrate selection: You can choose the quality at which you want the video to be played based on internet speed. Though JioCinema automatically adjusts itself to the available internet speed, it is advisable to have a minimum speed of 2Mbps or above.

-- Parental controls: You can set a PIN to restrict kids from the content that you want.
