'Love Life' Season 2: Meet the New Cast of the HBO Hit

Love Life is an HBO anthology series that focuses on one character's relationships over time. The first season saw Anna Kendrick star as Darby, looking at how the different connections in her life have affected her.

The second season of Love Life is now arriving on HBO Max, from October 28, with Marcus (played by William Jackson Harper) at the center of the drama.

With him comes a whole new cast, though Kendrick does return for the first episode to make a brief appearance.

Newsweek breaks down the new cast members joining the show ahead of its launch.

The Stars of 'Love Life' Season 2

The star of the second season is The Good Place's William Jackson Harper as Marcus Watkins, who begins the show just coming out of a long-term relationship with "The One," or so he thought.

He is joined by three regular stars, Jessica Williams, Punkie Johnson and Chris "Comedian CP" Powell, as well as Keith David, who will be this season's narrator.

Anna Kendrick as Darby will appear briefly in the first episode, giving fans closure as to how her story ended before she hands the focus over to the next person.

Her first season co-stars Zoë Chao, Peter Vack, Sasha Compère and Nick Thune will also appear.

There are plenty of guest stars in the second season, as there were in the first. One of these is Janet Hubert, known as the original Aunt Viv in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

The recurring guest stars in the second season are Arian Moayed, Leslie Bibb, Jordan Rock, Steven Boyer and John Earl Jelks.

A huge roster of names including Maya Kazan, Ego Nwodim, Kimberly Elise and Blair Underwood appear in fewer episodes as guest stars.

What Is 'Love Life' Season 2 About?

As with the first season, the second season of Love Life focuses on one person's relationships with friends, parents, and mainly their love lives.

Marcus is the focus of the second season, beginning with him having just broken up with his long-term girlfriend.

He believed their relationship would last forever, so now he has to recalibrate his thinking and find someone new—leading him to various encounters over time.

The series begins with Darby (Kendrick) at her wedding, suggesting her relationship with Magnus has finally worked out, so she can pass on the Love Life quest to Marcus.

When Is 'Love Life' Season 2 Out?

Love Life begins on October 28, and is available on HBO Max only.
