The score soundtrack album for the film Hacksaw Ridge (2016).
The film follows World War II American Army Medic Desmond T. Doss, who served during the Battle of Okinawa. He is the first person in American history to receive the Medal of Honor as a conscientious objector, meaning he refused to bear arms.
The soundtrack was nominated for an HMMA Award in the “Best Original Score – Feature Film” category as well as a Satellite Award in the “Best Original Score” category.
Rupert Gregson-Williams via Varèse Sarabande:
The soundtrack is really in two parts. A lovely romance blossoms as Desmond discovers both the love of his life and his faith. The second half of the movie is brutal. The score reflects some of this, and also despond’s spiritual strength.
