EastEnders spoilers follow.

Suki Kaur Panesar and Eve Unwin have been betrayed ahead of their escape plan in EastEnders.

The pair were caught trying to flee Walford earlier this week by Walford PD detective Jack Branning, who'd been the one spearheading the investigation into Eve's supposed death.

Eve pleaded with Jack to keep her secret since she knew Nish Panesar and his son Ravi Gulati would come for herself, Stacey and Suki if they were released from jail.

In Friday's (December 22) episode, it was revealed that Jack had given the couple until the following morning to disappear or he'd have to tell his colleagues the truth.

And yet, Suki and Eve were still hanging around Walford the following day as they tried to sort holiday plans for Nugget. As Suki tried to inconspicuously walk through the Square, she was cornered by Jack.

Jack threatened to tell his supervisor that "Eve Unwin's back on the Square", so Suki responded in kind by warning she could easily go tell Denise about his fling with Stacey.

"Come on then, be my guest. Denise knows," Jack shot back.

However, Suki got the better of Jack by threatening to tell his children the truth about Stacey unless he gave her a day to sort out Nugget.

Jack went home to try to keep his crumbling family together, yet Denise made clear any hope of that was lost when he tried to use Amy's mental health to keep her in the marriage.

"You threatened me, Jack, and you used Amy's mental health too," Denise reminded him. "Now, maybe we could put everything else behind us, but that? I don't think so."

When Denise later spotted Stacey and Jack together on the Square, Stacey desperately tried to apologise for doing something "stupid" with Jack.

"I regret it," she told Denise.

After Denise walked off in disgust, Stacey turned on Jack and railed at him for not telling her Denise already knew. Jack was finally fed up, so he called Walford Police to report that Eve was still alive.

What danger has Jack put Suki and Eve in now?

EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
