Micky van de Ven post match interview // Spurs 3-1 Nottingham Forest | “I saw the top corner was open so I was like now I bang it and I saw it fly into the top corner!”
Micky talks us through THAT goal 🗣️ | By Tottenham Hotspur | Congratulations Mickey. Well
done. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Cheers Mickey. You
had some lovely words to say about you. Here's very
complimentary. Um Mickey before we get into your goal which was
an absolute screamer. What did you make of the overall
performance today? Uh I think the first off we started quite
as well. We make we we make the goal we control the game and
then they make the equalizer and I think we struggled a bit.
We we had the control but we didn't really create something
and then out of the counter they were really difficult.
They hit the post where we were very lucky to be honest. And I
think the second half we dominated the game the whole
whole second half. Yeah we were way better and I think well
deserved three points. We will show you it in a bit but first
I just want you to kind of tell us what that feeling was like.
The ball drops to you sort of got it out of your feet and
Marsy's just said it looked like there wasn't a net there.
The ball wouldn't have stopped. It would still be going now.
Talk us through it from your point of view. Uh Sonny at the
ball and to be honest I thought he was going to shoot and then
he it to me and I was like okay for sure in front of my left
feet because for my right feet I don't know what's going to
happen then but I saw the short corner was open I was like now
I bang it and I saw it flying top corner and you we like
getting technical on this show I mean you score the goal and
then you look up to the stands is it your family in the stands
yeah my family was sitting here that's so special to see that
moment yeah yeah very special so it was a amazing moment I
mean it's it it yeah I mean that's the moment we we all
dream of and you've just lived it there right in front of
those 17 a half thousand fans on. It must be like an out of
body experience, wasn't it? Yeah, yeah, it's it's oh yeah,
you're so happy, you just want to celebrate and scream
and you want to do everything in front of the fence and yeah,
it's it's also beautiful to score in front of the on on the
other side of the fence but here's of course a bit more
special but yeah, it was amazing feeling when I saw the
ball hit the net and yeah, I was just celebrating. It just
felt like we need the team needed that moment, didn't it?
The team needed that moment and then from there we are in
complete control, weren't we? Yeah, I think the yeah we kept
pushing after my goal and yeah what I said I think we control
the whole second half Mickey speaking about you this week
saying you didn't come here because the club had champions
league football you came here because you wanted to play for
Tottenham Hotspur and I wonder what even moments are like at
full time the whole stadium was singing your song and I know
they've done it before but that seem really special at full
time. Can you talk about that? Uh unbelievable feeling to be
honest. When the whole stadium was singing your name is like a
dream that comes true and I appreciate it a lot defense are
doing this for me and I I love to play in front of defense and
I think Pedro also scored a really good goal and yeah it
was it was good for us both to to be important today. Did you
think you'd be you'd have had as good your debut season in
the Premier League. Did you think it would go as well as
this on a personal level? Uh yeah of course it's difficult
to say because you know the Premier League is is the
hardest league in the world. Uh you know your own qualities but
you never know how it's going to happen and I think
it's going quite well the first season now I have to keep
pushing like this.
