Maywood Center for Enriched Studies has been a great middle/high school experience. It gave me a safe space to grow and learn. From the administrators, teachers, and staff, everyone at MaCES made it their mission to ensure all students felt welcomed and safe. There were many great class options and clubs to choose from/join. I am so glad I was able to attend this school.
I greatly enjoy attending MaCES because the community here is very welcoming and students are very friendly to each other. The school offers many clubs, with a diverse amount of topics, and sports for students to be part. Although the school is a middle school and high school, which means older students will be eating lunch with the younger students, this doesn’t diminish the pleasant experience.
An excellent school, with awesome teachers and staff. A lot of opportunities for sports, arts, music, math, etc.
I've been enrolled in the Maywood Center For Enriched Studies since my 6th grade school year. Although it does get repetitive after 5 years of attending the same school I couldn't wish for anything better. The teachers are extremely motivated and seem like they love doing their job. I have had so many opportunities since attending this school like our schools academic decathlon program and a trip to another country I won from the resources at our school. All of this to say I've had a very positive experience at Ma.C.E.S.
My time at Maywood Center For Enriched Studies was definitely one to remember. I spent all four years at this school from freshman to senior year. It is one of the best schools with the best principles. No bullying is tolerated, conflicts are resolved, and all students are heard.
Great school! I enjoy the vibes from all professors and counselors they are always willing to assist ni matter what.
I think the best part are the teachers and the staff how they push you to the best person you can be. One of the bad parts of my experience is the uniform and the problem with logos especially the small logos. A small Nike logo or other small logos shouldn’t bother the school uniform.
Best experience is how the teachers admin everyone is there for you and show they care and just want the best for you. The worst part is the dress code when it comes to logo. I don’t see a reason to hide a little Nike logo or Addis’s logo or any little logo because it’s a logo.
I liked how MACES was a very open minded school that offers multiple different types of help or advice for the students here in order to help prepare their students to the real world. I experienced this first hand and I certainly believe Maywood Center for Enriched Studies is a school that can certainly offer any help towards any student whether it be advice and help for college readiness or help with mental health. However on of the worst experiences I've had is the fact that the school can have some very not commited students in terms of behavior or lack of wanting to learn which is something I have experience first hand in class but at the end of the day is something they can't really control. Other than the the school is a very good school in terms of education and the abilty to want to help others in need.
As a senior at Maywood Center for Enriched Studies, I can say that my overall experience was an amazing one. This school provides excellent student support and resources. The school environment is one that is safe. Staff and teachers help to support students.
The Center for Enriched Studies is a compact and colorful school in front of the main street (E Slauson) and a block away from Riverfront Park. It is relatively new and ultimately a magnet school. It employs highly enthusiastic and experienced teachers. It is home to many programs including but not limited to Robotics, Interact, Chess, AVID, and Roots & Shoots. It also hosts a wide variety of sports including but not limited to wrestling, cross country, soccer, and football. The school is heavily focused on educating its students for higher levels of education and due to the smaller student-to-faculty ratio students receive more attention. The school is located in a safe, motivating environment . Overall, it prepares a student to become well-rounded and proactive in their personal success.
Its a great school that provides excellent resources to their students to ensure their success. Not only do they take care of students academics and their presence on academic days, but also students mental health. By providing this kind of support they ensure students stay motivated.
One thing which makes MaCES stands out, is the teacher and staff. They really care about your academic and personal well being. Helping you prepare for college and the financial aid process. This school has various clubs, AP courses, and challenging classes to help prepare you to succeed once you graduate.
A relatively small school with little diversity both middle school and high school. Teachers, counselors, the staff overall always made sure to try and create a safe learning environment for everyone. There was always something going on whether it was spirit week or digital citizenship week. Students were free to create clubs and events and the school tried its best to prepare students for college.
Maywood center for Enriched studies was one of the best options that I took. The teachers here are amazing, they make sure you are on the right track and give you their very best. Not only is our education good but our sports as well. We've only been a school for the fourth year now and have 2 championship rings and many playoff appearances.
Terrible people in this school, filled with hate and homophobic people, teachers are lazy. If you had something to report, the school would not listen unless something wrong would make the school look bad. Also, the school food was so disgusting three times. I have gotten expired milk and could not get a new one that I was able to drink. The diversity of this school is none existence because they do not have any focuses on this. This school's clubs and sports are very forgettable because all of their clubs are academic-focused and not about building a connection with the students. The sports are very lackluster because the amount of sport this school offers is a joke. After all, other schools around this school offer more choices for students while this school does not, and the requirements to join a sport are very unfair.
MaCES did not only offer me academic opportunities to enhance my education but it also allowed me to grow as an individual. The wide range of course and activities exposed me to different career paths that helped me realize what I wanted to pursue. I succeeded beyond my expectations. The community within the school is very much like family.
