Jack Ging (1931–2022), longtime character actor

Jack Ging was a longtime character actor in movies and television best known for playing General Fulbright on “The A-Team.”

Character Actor  

Jack Ging played college football for the University of Oklahoma and played in the 1954 Orange Bowl. He became a working character actor who appeared in numerous films and TV series. He was in the war movie “Sniper’s Ridge” and appeared with Clint Eastwood in “Hang Em High,” “High Plains Drifter” and “Play Misty for Me.” On television, he had a recurring role on “Mannix” and was on multiple episodes of “The A-Team” as General “Bull” Fulbright.” He had a regular role on “Riptide” and played a coach on an episode of the sitcom “Wings.”

“When I was in high school, Darrell Royal, Leon Heath, Lindell Pearson and those OU guys went to a bowl every year. Then we were on probation when I got there. So it meant a helluva lot to me when, in my senior year, we J.D. Roberts, Larry Grigg and those guys got to go to a bowl game. Every kid wants to play in a bowl game.” – 1997 interview with The Oklahoman
