As a Muslim, Ajay's mother was unable to marry Raman without pretending to be a Christian. Her dying wish is to be interred as a Muslim -- which draws the anger of Hindu nationalists.

The movie was a moderate success at the box office however performances of both the lead artists along with the story line, music and direction were appreciated thereby boosting the career of Pooja Bhatt as a leading actress and Aamir Khan.
