We really were excited about seeing Kenny Wayne Shepherd at the Egg. We have seen other blues bands there and love the intimate nature of the venue. I like to dance and stand up during a show . We asked if we could leave our seats and stand up on the back of the theatre . While we were enjoying the show another couple made conversation about a particular song selection that was being played.. Shortly after a brief exchange between us we were approached by an usher who asked if we had seats, then he told me we were shouting during the concert. . I felt harassed in the sense that at a rock /blues show it is not uncommon to express appreciation by hooting etc. I understand that the ushers have a big job keeping track of who is keeping a mask on but the attempt to squash fun and exuberance is the antithesis of the spirit of musical appreciation.

Very Very small venue. If you want a beer you will wait in line over 30 minutes, if you have to go to bathroom you will wait over 20 minutes . You also can't drink the beer in the venue. Way not worth it

This place is a literal maze. If you have never been here before, expect to drive in circles a couple of times. The parking is a sh#$ show and then it's another game trying to find the spot you are heading to. ALL of that said, the acoustics were GREAT in the small theater.

It might explain why they decided to build a huge egg in the centre of their city. I'm not too sure whose idea it was to include the egg in as an attraction, but that speaks to the fact that there is NOTHING to do in Albany. Also, I'm pretty sure no one lives in the city since the streets are deserted every time I have been- summer and winter.

There's literally nothing to do in the egg unless you want to sit in an underground cafe or take the NY bar for fun.

On the flip side, I'm happy that the chickens have a structure they can be proud of.

The Egg is great - not a bad seat to see the show - but the show was terrible - the David Bowie Tribute Concert was an insult to Bowie - the male singers were ok but the female singer was just terrible - the guitar players looked like there were 90 and the piano player pounded so loud on the keys - the show gave me headache we could not stay till the end it was so bad - they did not give tribute to Bowie songs at all - most of the songs no one had ever head of - they could of played more of his famous ones. Would not recommend this show to anyone.

Ok not only to they book great prog acts like Steve Hackett and Carl Palmer but it's the seating and convinence. I drive 100 miles each way from central ny. $5 parking right under the egg and so easy access from thruway. It took a full minute at end of show down elevator and in the car not a typo. Love this venue. If I never go to a dome again well I can't see that happening!

Nice place, great views, but not to exciting. A little history, but I just went for a school function.

We had always heard about The Egg but never been inside. Being from out of town, we were impressed with the ease of navigating the expressways and signage to get there. The parking garage is underneath. There were plenty of staff dedicated to guiding you to the "will call window", restrooms, elevators, seats, etc. The theater has tiered seating which was deep enough that you never had to worry about not being able to see over someone else's head. We attended a show, Britishmania, (tribute band to The Beatles). The spirit of the group was remarkable and they delivered a high energy show. We thought the flow of the performance could have been smoother, and they experienced some pitch issues on occasion. Those attending had a great time and there was even dancing in the seats at the end. The Egg gets high marks as a venue and I would seek out other show to attend there again! I must mention that I would give a low mark for having such a small ladies room (only 4 stalls) and the most narrow, worst layout I can recall. The men's room was adjacent and it must have been so tiny there was even a line for them! The two lines were shoulder to shoulder in the small hallway. It is hard to fathom how the architects created such an impressive structure and completely blew it with this important feature of a public event theater!?!

Whether you attend a performance in the Lewis A. Sawyer Theater-450 seats or the Kitty Carlisle Hart theater-982 seats, you are guaranteed world class artists, excellent acoustics, great views of the stage from any seat and plenty of leg room. This venue is by far my choice for the best place to experience intimate live music and comedy in the capitol region.

This is a perfect place to see live music! We saw Samantha Fish, River Kittens and Devon Allman (son of Greg), all for about $40, and had terrific seats.
