I see why this only lasted 1 season. It is so dry. The real show had Ritchie as the focal point & in this animated series Fonzie is the focal point. Absolutely nothing wrong with that, but the Fonz is the cool guy, not the main attraction. I know, look at the title of the show, but I say, "how long did it last"? There had to be a reason for the series only lasting 1 season. I am still a fan of the Fonz, but this idea just did not work. Too much of other concepts incorporated in this show, ie, cosmic powers, a talking dog, space/time travel, etc. Final thought is it was a good attempt, but just missed the mark some.

Be careful buying this if you live in the U.K. It didn't work on my machine, it came up wrong region, which is a real shame as I enjoyed watching this as a kid. I'm disappointed as I think I would have enjoyed this.

Worth The Wait!

Just got this in the mail today. Both seasons of Fonz And The Happy Days Gang on 4 DVD-Rs.
I loved the cartoon when it originally aired. The Fonz, Richie Cunningham, and Ralph Malph team up with new characters dog Mr. Cool and future chick, Cupcake and travel in her time machine through time and space.
Their adventures include dinosaurs, deep space in the future, ancient Persia, pirates, the old west, ancient China, Transylvania, the Salem Witch Trials, ancient Egypt, ancient Peru, Camelot, ancient Greece, the Three Musketeers, Aqua city in the future, Bermuda Triangle, Center of the Earth, ancient Siam, Vikings, ancient Rome, ancient Timbuktu, Sherlock Holmes and more.
These cartoons are pure Hanna Barbera fun. A shining example of teens going on adventures with a dog and/or mascot. The voices of original actors Henry Winkler, Ron Howard and Donny Most make it even more fun.
With Hanna Barbera either Don Messick or Frank Welker did pretty much all of the dog and other animal/creature voices and this one features Frank Welker. Famous DJ Wolfman Jack voices the opening titles.
As Lavern And Shirley was one season and a 2 DVD set, it was cheaper and I bought it first. I am VERY happy with both of these sets.
This set has all 24 regular episodes. The Laverne And Shirley set has all 13 first season one episodes. Neither set has the Lavern and Shirley season two episodes which feature The Fonz and Mr. Cool. I really hope CBS gets around to releasing a set of those cartoons, as well as the Mork & Mindy cartoon, Jeannie, Partridge Family 2200 A.D. and any other Hanna Barbera cartoons they might own.
I couldn't get VLC on two computers to play these discs, but but it did play in the Windows Media Player and in my Blu Ray player.

Happy Days in Action!

A true guilty pleasure reliving a Saturday Morning cartoon. I was in Jr. High when this was on TV. I had been waiting for years for this to come out on some format, as I never saw it rerun again, though I found out it was seen on TV Land, but I didn't have the channel then.
I found Mr. Cool to be quite annoying most of the time. I liked this cartoon based on the fact that Ron Howard, Henry Winkler & Don Most voiced their characters from the live action show. If that dog wasn't in it, they should have fit Anson "Potsie" Williams. He would've been perfect. Cupcake, after seeing this cartoon again for the first time in years was a turn on for me, despite her magical mishaps. There might be a couple of episodes that might not be PC in today's world, but it's great to have to add for those who were a 70's/80"s child like me.
