Season 1 – Fred: The Show

2012 Kids & Family Comedy List
Reviews 86% Audience Score Fewer than 50 Ratings Fred Figglehorn is a character that was created by (and played by) teenager Lucas Cruikshank, became a viral sensation on the Internet and eventually was the centerpiece of two made-for-TV movies on Nickelodeon. Now, Fred has his own show on Nick, appropriately titled "Fred: The Show." Every day is an adventure, both at home and at school, for Fred. As he tries to traverse teenage life, Fred is apt to cause mayhem -- it wouldn't be an adventure without mayhem, right? Bertha is Fred's best friend, his trusty sidekick even when it means following him into a bit of a pickle. Not so friendly to Fred is next-door neighbor Kevin, a nemesis who tries to make Fred lose his marbles (which sometimes works). If Fred finds himself in some kind of trouble, chances are it was Kevin who caused it. Read More Read Less Watch on Fandango at Home Buy Now

Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/17/23 Full Review Lukes Family and Friends My favorite live action Nickelodeon show. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Like the movie trilogy, a terrible, unfunny TV adaptation of a once-popular YouTube series where Lucas Cruikshank was becoming too visibly old to keep playing the character without it just seeming sad and whose source material's one-joke premise might have worked fine on three-minute Internet videos but turned pretty much into endurance tests when they're turned into half-hour adventures. The guy who played Kevin does seem to have some fun sometimes and at least we got some amusing memes about our titular character being mentally unstable. But overall, a sad relic of a bygone era that unsurprisingly marked the point where the character was retired following the show's cancellation and Cruikshank's departure from Nickelodeon after that other show of his failed as well. A textbook example of why attempts to bring Internet personalities into showbiz generally don't work outside of cameos and voice work. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Read all reviews
