The Sims 4 Base Game is free to play across all platforms. You can download it from the EA app, Steam, and Epic Games.
Before you start installing the game, check that your PC or Mac meets our system requirements.
To download the game on the EA app
- Launch the EA app and make sure you’re signed in.
- On The Sims 4 page, click the Download button.
- Check your install location and language preferences. Click Next.
- Review the terms of play, then click Download. The Play button will appear when your game is downloaded and ready to go.
The EA app has replaced Origin as the main platform for downloading and launching The Sims 4 for both Mac and PC.

If you bought the game on disc (PC only)
- Insert the game into your disk drive and follow the on-screen instructions.
- When prompted, enter the product code that was included with the installation discs.
- Head over to Answers HQ to look for a fix.
