The Fall Guy is riding high at the top of the box office going into its second weekend of release.

You might not know that the new action-comedy with Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt is based on the TV show of the same name from the 1980s. It's a very loose adaptation, but the movie does pay tribute to it.

If you just want to know whether you need to stick through the credits for an extra scene, we can confirm that The Fall Guy has one credit scene.

It comes after behind-the-scenes footage of the movie's incredible stunts, including a record-breaking cannon roll in a car, so there's plenty to enjoy leading up to it. There isn't another scene post-credits, so you can leave after that scene is up.

If that's all you want to know, then look away now as we're about to head into spoilers for the movie's ending and credits scene, as well as who those cameos are if you weren't sure.

The Fall Guy credit scene: Who was the cameo at the end of The Fall Guy?

After the behind-the-scenes footage finishes, we get a title card of "previously on The Fall Guy" and the movie cuts back to just after the climactic set piece.

Tom Ryder and devious producer Gail Meyer (Hannah Waddingham) didn't manage to escape in their helicopter, which crashed to the ground. As they stumble out, they're arrested by some police officers for attempting to frame Colt for murder.

Two of those police officers are played by Lee Majors and Heather Thomas, who played Colt and Jody in the original TV show which the movie is loosely based on.

Tom runs away, but doesn't realise he's strayed into a set lined with explosives. When he goes to use his phone to call for help, he sets off the explosives and blows himself up.

It leads Tom's assistant Alma (Stephanie Hsu) to call somebody asking whether Jason Momoa is free, tying up the surprise cameo in The Fall Guy's end scene, which reveals that he is now the star of Jody's movie Metalstorm.

In February 2023, Majors revealed he was going to be in The Fall Guy movie, but we didn't know in what capacity. "I had a phone call from David Leitch, who directed Deadpool [2] and [produced] John Wick," he told The Mirror.

"I knew he was doing The Fall Guy movie in Australia with Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt, but I was surprised by his call. He asked if I would appear in the movie and so I had to say yes."

The Fall Guy is out now in cinemas.
