However, the boy who she fell head over heels for, Sakuragawa Kuro, is someone that is feared by all supernatural creatures. The two of them face various mysterious incidents involving the supernatural in this love x romance x mystery series. Where will these fantastical incidents lead them and what will happen with Kotoko’s crush?
There's a lot of reviews going on about the pacing of the show. I've watched it through and can agree that the pacing isn't what you might expect. From the first episode alone it seems to be a mix of romance, supernatural and comedy with some action and some dialogue, and that sets a tone that the anime does not live up to. Once you get to the rest of the series, like many of the reviews here attest to, the show is mostly dialogue. On top of this, the dialogue isn't quick paced or streamlined like a lot of what you see in shows. I feel like because of the first episode a lot of people expect something completely different from what this anime has to offer and because of this judge it unfairly.
The show itself is mostly dialogue and a lot of that dialogue can be seen as redundant. The pacing also can be a bit strange with some scenes advancing the story far more than others. While this isn't a great way to write a story, it fits the type of story they're trying to tell, excluding the first episode. As a show based around undermining the validity of rumors or justifying actions from speculation, it makes sense that they'd slowly build upon ideas and reveal the mystery piece by piece. There are shows with far worse pacing that have large, devoted fan bases, such as the Monogatari series.
As far as the action/adventure side that is suggested by the first episode, that just isn't there. Like I said before, the show is mainly about solving mysteries and debunking rumors, so if you expect adventure you'll be highly disappointed.
TL:DR To wrap this up shortly, if anything is bad about the anime it's the first episode. While good it creates expectations for the show that it simply does not live up to, instead following a different route that I find just as enjoyable

Slow but worth it in the long run
Like everyone is saying, yes the show is slow. It has an exciting hook and highlights its potential, then is pretty stagnant the rest of the show as most of the season takes place in only a few locations and a couple days, and it focuses on one antagonist. While this can be difficult to get past right at the start, I think that if you have the patience to see it through it is a very interesting and promising show. There is a much larger storyline waiting to be unfolded and the relationships between characters are something to be revealed in time. You gain some insight into the main issues and thoughts of the characters and, I myself, found them very appealing. There is not as much given as you would get in other shows, but oh boy am I excited to see what's next. It's simple, it's small, but it's enough for me to enjoy and anticipate the big stuff. If you can get past the shortcomings I think that the end game is worth it.

could be much better....
so close to being a great anime good characters and setting but too many exposition dumps makes it a drag to keep up with.
If it had less explaining or better yet explained things better without taking up so much time every episode would be a great watch.

Bad pacing or bad writing?
So, after sitting down to catch up with this anime... I find myself a little dissapointed.
The animation is brilliant and the story line is rather captivating, however this show has a HUGE problem with pacing. There are a lot of expositions which could have been shown in a better way... things that would have made really good episodes and character building moments have kind of been either washed over or entirely skipped. There is an almost 2 year time skip right at the beginning of the anime which the main characters then have to explain what happened anyway. I feel like this might just be bad writing, but otherwise the story is great.
