Such a beautiful hidden gem! When our yacht pulled up to the falls, it felt magical. We were able to hop on a smaller boat to bring us in because the water was super shallow. There were lots of locals there and we were definitely the odd ones out. Once we were made clear on NOT accessing or going over to the waterfalls on the left, things were smooth sailing. Whatever you do, don’t go over there because you will be told by the guards to step away (owned by the prime minister or something I think?). The right side is open to the public and we had a great time. I would highly recommend this off the beaten path gem.

My family and I (6 adults) got a private Boat (Captain Dve) to take us around the harbour in Ocho Rios. We were unaware of where we would be going. We visited Dunn's River beach but never came off the boat. Captain Dave sailed past several attractions and explained some of the history with regards to building ,a sunken ship and some tourist attractions, and then the boat captain took us to Laughing Waters ...it was picturesque, we got a guy to take the ladies to shore on a kayak, the men swam to shore (this was so much fun). It was fascinating to experience the cooler waters of the river after wading in from the warm waters of the sea. There is a falls, and there were spots to sit while the falls "fall all over you". The property of Laughing waters is private but there is an identical falls nerby where for a small fee you can have a god time. Coincidentally we had a wedding to attend which was held on the grounds of Laughing Waters, the lawn is for miles and well manicure, several gorgeous flowers and tall palm tress adorn the property, there a rooms you can rent and the bathrooms are spectacular The sound of the falls with the water rushing by is so calming. Lovely Place.

It's a bit cheeky trip advisor putting this beech on here. For those of you who don't know it is the beech in the film 'Dr No' where Honey Ryder walks out of the sea in 'that bikini'. The beech is privately owned and you can't get access to it. I tried.

Ocho Rios was a cruise stop for us and Laughing Waters is where my now husband and I got married! A planner in Jamaica had this as a venue location option and am so glad we picked it. I see some people are not happy about it being closed to the general public, but this was a plus for us. It was magical for my wedding guests and us to have the whole beach and waterfall to ourselves. The view is breathtaking, the sand is soft, and the waterfall was magical! When we viewed our wedding photos, it is seriously like they are out of a magazine! I highly recommend getting married here if you are thinking about it!

My husband to be and I went for a site visit for our upcoming wedding and the venue is gorgeous! the private beach at the bottom is breathtaking and the grounds are spectacular. Love everything about it. Cant wait for the BIG DAY!!!!

I got married at Laughing Waters last year. I have to say, the place was absolutely breath taking. The beach was beautiful, we had access to the guest house, which was also beautiful. The thing that I like best was that the beach is very private, I was able to enjoy my day with privacy.

This is paradise! I got married at this private villa and it was breathtaking! "WOW" is all I have to say about this place. The view from the master bedroom out onto the ocean is amazing! I just love, love, love this place!!!

My wife and I booked the location for our wedding. The grounds were beautiful and our wedding was wonderful. The experience would have been perfect except for the frustration faced dealing with the management team for Laughing Waters. Lack of communication, lack of information and lack of customer service. If you must have an event here, use a very experienced planner or event management company and save yourself having to deal with these people directly!

Less commercial waterfall experience than Dunns River -

There is security at the gate, however locals know trails down to the beach.
