Who is Bayern Munich debutant goalscorer Niklas Dorsch?

Heidenheim-bound Niklas Dorsch is the latest up-and-comer to have been blooded at Bayern Munich. The 20-year-old scored a debut Bundesliga goal against Eintracht Frankfurt on Matchday 32 - but what's his story?

Allow bundesliga.com to fill in the blanks...

What position does he play?

With one-man orchestra Toni Kroos as his self-styled idol, it can only be central midfield. A defensive role in front of the back four is Dorsch's preference, but he can also operate effectively further up the pitch. And what the Bundesliga newcomer lacks in height - he's only 5'8" - he more than makes up for in forward-thinking application. The former Nuremberg youth player is always on the lookout for a defence-splitting pass; shifting the ball sideways or backwards just isn't his way. He's tenacious, too.

Is he any good?

Captain of the Bayern reserves since the start of the current campaign, an U17 Fritz-Walter silver medalist (the prize awarded to Germany's brightest young things) and a 19-time Germany youth international: of course he's good! He's also dabbled in senior affairs, playing the second half of a pre-season friendly against Inter Milan last summer and warming the substitutes' bench in the Bundesliga on more than one occasion.
