- Robin C9 contributionsVery good staff were very helpful as not booked before hand on arrival train was full,so we were advised to get a bus to other end of the line for a retun trip which did work well. But could not then do the Ferry which was a shame but odd there is only one trip running at this time of year otherwise very good.Written April 27, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ingrid MGeervliet, The Netherlands383 contributionsLoved it !! All the oh's and ah's when recognising things from years gone by......"my gran used that, I had one if those as a teenager, my dad drove one of them" Such fun.
When in (the area of) Hoorn you should really go and see it 😊Written September 18, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We waited an hour for our starters, while the female server, clearly annoyed with the kitchen, provided us with bread to satisfy our hunger. Once the food arrived it was very good and the kitchen was back in control. Main course and dessert arrived more promptly.Written June 16, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- MienekeTHoorn, The Netherlands57 contributionsThe cinema now is named Vue. We had a perfectly relaxed visit and film to watch. There is a lot of leg room and the chairs are really good. If you want to buy refreshments or a snack during the break, that takes a while. Staff work hard , but it is very very busy.Written February 17, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- IceQueen2013Hoorn, The Netherlands128 contributionsI’ve taken this tour twice to show friends and family around. I live in the Historic Haven district of Hoorn. It is well worth the price. You get free drinks during the hour tour, you can pick red or white wine, soda, water. I thought it’s a good deal. The views from the water are fantastic. And much closer view of a replica of the Halve Man ship that sailed here from New York at the turn of 19th century. I didn’t even know that New York used to be New Amsterdam if not for the skipper of one of the tours I’d taken. I always just thought the town is a VOC (Dutch East India Company) hub, apparently, they also were WIC (Dutch West India Company) hub as well. Truly a world class town that preserved its heritage well.
I took a star off because the skippers only speak heel een beetje Engels, they say, so the tours were mostly only in Dutch.Written July 13, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. She loves her home and it comes through in her enthusiasm and energy. Hoorn would be interesting in it's own right, but Alette made it come alive. We're so glad we booked her Meet a Local Tour.Written April 16, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
