"An experienced and established Bundesliga player who is commanding and very ambitious." With those words, Bayer 04 sporting managing director Simon Rolfes described Werkself new signing Robert Andrich at his presentation in Leverkusen in the middle of August 2021. The midfielder joined the Werkself from Bundesliga rivals Union Berlin. The Potsdam-born player made 65 appearances in two years for the Berlin team scoring nine goals and providing six assists. Andrich, who wears the number eight shirt for the Black and Reds, signed a contract to 30 June 2026.
Werkself player Robert Andrich has been called up to the Germany squad for Euro 2024. For the 29-year-old midfielder with the champions of Germany, it will be the first time he has been in a major international tournament.
