Office of Child Support

Welcome to the Office of Child Support.

Who We Are

The Office of Child Support helps children with getting financial and medical support the law says they should receive.  We work with the federal government, Children Services Enforcement Agencies (CSEA), and other agencies to help children.  The goal is to give children financial and medical support they deserve.

What We Do

We write the policies and procedures the CSEA uses to decide whether your child or children are able to get help with financial and medical support.  This is called a support order. We also manage the Ohio Child Support Customer Service Portal, which is what you use to apply for child support or make child support payments.  We also have the Ohio Child Support mobile app you can download from Google Play or the Apple App Store.

How We Help

A parent or caretaker who applies for help with child support can be helped by the CSEA.  We also help when we receive a request from:

  • A court that issues a child support order
  • Another state or country requesting child support services
  • The Office of Family Assistance or Protective Services

We will help you:

  • Open a child support case
  • Find the noncustodial parent(s)
  • Prove family relationships or paternity
  • Establish and enforce financial and medical support orders
  • Collect and send you support
  • Review, modify, or end support orders
  • Refer you for other services you may need

If you have a question about your child support case, please contact your county’s child support enforcement agency.
